There's a reason most champions stay well clear of the drama and nearly everyone who starts out this way grows out of it. It's counterproductive. TBD if Deegan will learn that lesson or if random acts of violence like this will be a normal part of his career because he refuses to stop running his mouth and disrespecting his competitors.

Both went down. But Deegan lost the overall he was almost certain to get and the massive points lead he would have. What did Kitchen lose? A 4th or 5th place overall? Kitchen had a mini win by taking more from Deegan than he lost. If Shimoda gets second or better next week that take out cost Deegan $250k.

That or something else a few corners earlier? I suspect (as did the commentators) Danger Boy might have “run it in” on LK while trying to make up for his poor start. The actual move reminded me of the one Deegan put on his team mate Cole Davies. A move that was totally unwarranted at the time. Deegan stayed up in that one, and looked back to see what he’d done to Cole. Aggressive take out moves. Just block passes really. Would spoil the sport if they became “normal”/frequent. It seems to be the “what goes around, comes around” “code”...

Deegan spent his first couple of seasons trying to run it in on anybody near him, as well as running his mouth. Now he doesn’t have to do it so much because he has superior speed, though he still runs his mouth, just not as often. Kitchen just reminded him that even if you change your habits, your past will occasionally come back to bite you.

Of course I cannot discredit those on the form who are successful in their fields. But, let’s be real most of the problem on here are just unaccomplished assholes. I am also not seeing where all this hate is coming from. The situation sucked but people are asking for unreasonable remedies. I get no one wants to pay for an experience to be cut short but getting this upset is an absolute waste that isn’t accomplishing anything.

No it's not simple. They should design the track and limit its racing because of a one in 200 chance they have to cancel the last moto? You actually think the riders would have raced that track with lights, when they didn't even want to race it during daylight? There is a reason there isn't any more night races at places that don't have permanent lights installed.

So they should: - keep a few hundred people on payroll and standby for a "maybe". Incl track builders, dirt haulers, stadium staff, medics, Feld crew, riders and families, teams, TV crew, AMA-staff. - Insurance and stadium rent should always be for a day extra - No one flying can plan for going early, so have to fly out late sunday evening (for all 30 races) even if it's not cancelled, and if you want to be guaranteed to come home. Incl people who bought tickets. - Catering and food, supply deliveries (incl breakfast, lunches) needs to be ordered for...
