He said it’s the longest whoop section including the sand whoops. It looks like just a regular set of whoops leading into the sand whoops. There appear to be a few tracks with longer regular whoop sections. Interesting to see if they actually stick to the designs, though. They’re constantly neutering them when the race rolls around.

Wow. I'm impressed with the whoop count this year. Denver is showing 11 without counting the starter whoop. I can't remember did they go away from 9 whoops in 2026 or were they mostly 9 in 2026?

They keep trying to use the heat as an excuse but they continue going to Red Bud for July 4 weekend every year where it is consistently hotter than anywhere in the south that week for some reason. Most anywhere in the south in May - beginning of July is no worse than anywhere else in the country really

It is kind of crazy the nearest national to Miami or Orlando is a 13 to 15 hour drive away. The Southeast needs an outdoor race, but I am sure the weather is a big factor. Last time they were at WW, several guys had heat related issues (Sexton and Justin Cooper if I recall correctly) even though many of these guys train in Florida.

im in the same boat. this was talked about in the LA WSX thread a couple weeks ago. When you figure in gas ($7/gallon here in los angeles), parking, food, drinks, taking a family of 4 or 5 is gonna set you back around $1,000 these days. No thank you. I'll pay my 12.99 to peacock, BBQ dinner at home, and sit on my couch and watch it, then fall asleep with a half drank beer. Whats crazy is I remember paying $25/ticket for A1/A2 around 2020/21. Its stupid now.
