8/17/2022 7:48am I gotta say, in the "cast of characters" in this shitshow, I think you were the one who did it right. The rest of them are an embarrassment to the sport. Anyway, has anyone brought up the notion that the AMA didnt have the athority to undo the claim? Wasn't the claim done? And you guys were holding Brennan's bike, to be released to him the following day? It was his property. How did it become "not his property"? Did he sell it back to star and the AMA was the broker for the sale? Some fancy contract lawyer might...

8/17/2022 7:47am This is phenomenal news. If some actual positives come out of this event, that is the best outcome. Taking Lessons Learned and then implementing improvements going forward. Congrats to you and your team! Seriously, I know this topic/event has been very emotionally charged, but congrats and respect for taking real action !!

8/17/2022 7:41am Was he in the corner twiddling his thumbs? If AMA was in the room this whole time why did he let a multi million dollar industry famous mini dad intimidate a 17 y/o? It makes everything worse if AMA is in the room the whole time.

8/17/2022 7:31am Steve, I like how you keep saying “The Kid should have the bike,” but constantly try and make it out as though he is the one lying. Is this your best attempt at smoke and mirrors? So you say there is no way that Luce, Walker, MX Sports or the Dealership could lie? It HAS to be the kid? Do you really think any of the people with a lot to lose are going to come out and admit they lied? 1) Donnie Luce on your show last night stated he was almost to the hotel when he found out...

8/16/2022 3:20pm Apologies if this is known (too much info spinning in my head), but who got Donnie Luce (Yamaha employee, correct?) involved? Did Deegan text/call him or someone else with Star? So then Donnie now calls Walker and says get back to the track, we have a situation (to squash, lol). What didn't pass the smell test for me in Donnie's segment on Pulp, was after Donnie asked Brennen why he wanted to claim the bike and then tried to explain the pros and cons of going through with it, he then wanted to discuss what issues Brennen had been having...

again, the question is, if the dealer was pulling support anyway, what could he possible say to get Brendan to withdraw the claim? Clearly whatever the dealer guy said worked, but what was it he said? How could he threaten his support if it was over anyway. Doesn't make sense. And why would he need engines if the bike are...

8/16/2022 2:21pm Great job ML getting everyone's side of things. I too believe the kid should have gotten the bike, as per the AMA rule. My biggest takeaway is the 2 GYTR motors from Yamaha. The explanation from Walker on how that went down was as if "Nothing to see here", just a USA Yamaha rep offering up 2 crate motors to some mid pack amateur B rider at the largest amateur motocross race in the world, who happened to try to claim a "Factory" Yamaha bike. I'm sure that the Canadian dealership putting pressure on dad to drop the claim might...

8/16/2022 2:18pm I listened to both parts, ML, great job, you’d make a great lawyer. The Yamaha guy, Cotter and Matt Walker are trash, and Deegan is a coward for not coming on.

8/16/2022 2:14pm Random thoughts DC, a true steward of the sport. A virtual walking encyclopedia of knowledge and information, then 2022 happened. With exception of the excellent racing on the track, the last year or three have been rough on DC. At least he takes great sign pics. None of this shit show happens if they just gave up the bike. Does Yamaha save face? There was a time in Japanese tradition when, if an individual or group's conduct or behavior was an embarrassment to the company, they backed away and would cut ties with everyone involved to save face. I wonder...

8/16/2022 2:12pm I can’t get past the meeting in whatever room happened with however many people were there for however many minutes. By all accounts it happened. By all accounts it was adults asking a minor questions that didn’t need to be asked. Just the fact that this happened was the beginning of the pressure campaign. And it was inappropriate.

8/16/2022 2:11pm Exactly. So even after he pulled his claim, the dealer still dropped him. It appears the claim was pulled because of the influence of the dealer, but getting dropped anyways... he might as well of kept the claim and gotten the bike. As for my Moto X comment, I just noticed he no longer tags them in his posts and he was highly critical (negative) towards Matt... so I'm assuming that Brennan has cut ties with them.

8/16/2022 2:09pm I do hope the interview with the dealer discusses the current state of their relationship. It appears, from my understanding, that Brennan has lost the support of said dealer and has cut ties with Moto X Compound. What else did he have to lose by keeping the claim and getting the bike? I don't think his other sponsors would have dropped him had he gone through with it.

8/16/2022 1:26pm For everyone asking about this and that, here's some reality that needs no backing to see that this is Shitty all around and there is HUGE FUCKERY afoot. -- Claim was made. People with no business in the claim got involved. -- Pressure and bribes were made to withdraw the claim. -- Claim was withdrawn No oversight or accountability was made on the entire situation. You do not need anyone that was there, you do not need to quote anyone.

8/16/2022 12:46pm So Steve, here is the question nobody has asked. If he always had to give the bikes back and he was losing his support, then how could said dealer convince him to drop the claim? He would have no leverage over the kid as he already was taking back the bikes? Also, why would he need motors from Yamaha if...

8/16/2022 12:31pm As others have said, far too many "people that should be smarter than that" have spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME ignoring the rule: Motivation has no place in this...well...until some of these people thought this should be a bad episode of The Kardashians. The "ass kissing" and "sucking up" is truly embarrassing. The denial that intimidation, manipulation and political tactics were used to scare the living shit out of a minor is, also, pretty damn sad and makes me pissed at quite few people that were there when it all went down. It appears some specificity is needed when...

8/16/2022 10:01am You are arguing about things that don’t matter and can’t be proven either way. Just answer these questions. Did Brennan make the claim fairly/ by the rules? Yes or no Was Brennan persuaded to drop the claim by adult influencers? Yes or no Did Brennan drop the claim due to this persuasion? Yes or no The facts matter and the rest is noise. What’s the point of having a rule if it can’t be applied without it becoming a negative shit show. No one will ever claim another bike and that a shame.

8/16/2022 9:27am Maybe Brennan was in the room 30mins including the time while they went to get the bike and round up Deegan etc. and then conversation was only 5mins or so…….? Regardless, in the scheme of things I don’t really see how that is a focal point on this.

8/16/2022 9:26am Like many of you, I would bottom line this to say that the kid shouldn't have been called into the room with Tim Cotter and Brian Deegan on his own. That should not have been part of the process whatsoever. Matt Walker, Yamaha, and all the other pressure being exerted on the kid to not go through with this claim, none of it passes the smell test, except for the AMA official who by all accounts was being impartial and professional. Church and state need to remain separate here. MXSports=promoter, and the AMA=executes the rules as written. One should have...
