Back in 2015 I wrote a story for Meta magazine chronicling Mike Healy and his story. I thought some of you who did not get a chance to read it at the time might enjoy it in video format. Unfortunately Mike passed away in 2024 but I think his story is one worth retelling.

to elaborate on that a bit... The austrian waterpumps run on a plain bushing type bearing and a simple seal, rather than a mechanical seal in the others. Which, is minimal in drag to begin with, hence the lackluster return on investment from the boys with the answers - Jamie or Chad.

Correct, and some of their forks for have a flat-looking bronze lower coating, like Stewart's forks. A lot more had that coating early last season, but it's reverted back to mostly clear chrome.

I've asked two different engine builders (Twisted and XPR), they both said that the electric water pump gains are extremely negligible on the KTM engines due to their water pump design. In standard form, they have the least amount of drag and power loss to operate of any 250 engine.

Fallen off? How so? All the high and mid-level 250 teams are using them, minus the Austrian machines (which have never used them). From my count wandering the pits, more 250 bikes have them then when I created this thread.

Tranfer of guilt, parents got the kid into moto, bought him bikes, paid entry fees, they knew like all of us know moto is dangerous and nearly anything bad can happen for a hundred reasons. The "if" game... if there were more flaggers, if the turn was not there, if the kid didnt crash, if he didnt race, if manucatures didnt make moto bikes. If, if if,..... Yep i still ride with my son, just dont race anymore, cuz the risks arent worth it. And know there is still a lot of risks just riding.

Bye Bye Mammoth MX bummer. Too bad the track liability release forms we sign aren't an actual liability release. Why even bother. Rip Aidan, prayers sent to the family. And FUCK the lawyers and whoever else stands to profit from this.

Geezuz...I feel for the kid and his family but damn, motocross as we know is dangerous. To go after the organization, track, staff etc ain't gonna bring him back. One day we ain't going to have any tracks left.

The 100% lens system is awesome. But the Prospect 2.0's just fit me great and have the hugest nose opening of about any goggle ever made. The Armega's are tall top to bottom with that extra lens design feature on the top that serves no purpose other than to make them push down on your nose. I'll take a fit that allows me to breathe over easy lens changes that I might do once a month or so.

I respectfully disagree. I have had a few disagreements with ML512 before, but IMHO he's very level headed, very fair with how he doles out clicks/ time-outs and runs things very well. Gibby was at his best when he ran Motodrive.

I raced Dave a time or two. He's one of my own kind. Len and I both love moto. He's a James fan. I'm a RC fan. Just like my best friend was a Tripes fan and I was a Hannah fan. Did we take it too far with the bickering? Sure we did. The thing about Dave and Lenny, beyond the love of moto, is that they would tell you what they think. No filter. No subterfuge. Definitely NOT politically correct. I can respect that.

With Stew's wrist there's no way he could ride without them. I'm in the same boat; they are lifesavers for people with wrist or hand/arm issues. I have them on all of my MTBs and my streetbike...lol. You get used to them pretty quick, and the occasional ride on something w/o them quickly reminds me why....
