Good for him if that is the case. Drugs are a disease that does not descriminate. If he is on the right path and has a grip on things then moto on brother. I have never been addicted so I can't throw stones at someone that was.

My favorite first cousin when I was growing up got into heroin in her early 30s. She was my role model as a child. Always got good grades, ended up with a nursing degree. Got in a car accident and got hooked on pills for her back. Graduated to heroin and started stealing anything she could. Was in and out of jail and rehab for 5 years. Then the last time she went to rehab something clicked and now she's been clean for 9 years. Went back to school and got a criminal justice degree while raising two kids and...

I don’t completely disagree, but I would also point out that there should be a big difference between a businessperson who sells things to people and one who treats people. The latter took an oath to do no harm. They can’t (or at least shouldn’t) be able to claim “because profits” in their rationale for prescribing unnecessary pills and/or unnecessary quantities. Yes, I also realize this is rather idyllic and ignores the reality that they have to stay in business, or we don’t have doctors anymore. But there must be a balance somewhere.

Thanks for the Pfizer information as I didn't know they were part of this. Fines mean nothing to billionaires, so incarceration is the only real deterrent. The pendulum has swung so far in the other direction that people are suffering now with such low quantity of painkillers for post-surgery.
