7/11/2025 4:39pm I don't see the sport growing for recreation and hobby ever again unless we have something like another national covid shut down. The covid shut down and money printing gave bike sales a huge boost and now we are back to reality. We are now seeing a fallout with the downturn in the economy and cost of living being so high. When this happens, the toys are the first things to go. Plus, the younger generation is just not into bikes like we were as kids. A lot of them don't even want or care to get drivers licenses. It's...

7/11/2025 4:38pm There may be a lot of viewership, but how many of those spectators actually participate at the local level? When I got into the sport in the mid-90's I thought that was peak MX/SX/AX, but that's also when I was paying attention the most. Local tracks raced every weekend, rain or shine. Now we're lucky to get one practice day every two weeks at the same tracks. I know insurance, attendance, etc. plays a major factor. The big show is growing while the little show is dying. It'll eventually all come full circle.

7/11/2025 1:14pm I still wanna see the baddest dudes, racing the baddest bikes, on the baddest tracks. It’s a spectacle.. Nobody goes to the drag strip to see a 1L Nissan Micra take a run.. but top fuel is dangerous!😱

7/11/2025 1:14pm RIP motoland 🙏🏽 probably a track we’ll never get back again. The property is up for sale this year 😕 which is crazy because it was debatably a national caliber track.

7/11/2025 1:13pm I would like to see amateur races run two thirty minute motos. I hated racing those 4-5 lap races as a kid. If people weren’t going all out, I think it might help a bit. Lowering the displacement might help a bit. Some tracks are more dangerous than others. At the end of the day you’re flying around on a motorcycle, though.

7/11/2025 1:10pm Really? Show me some photos of the jumps in the 70s & 80s and lets compare them to now.... Show me some specs on the bikes from the 70s & 80s hell even the 90s and lets compare them to now.... I would love to have this debate with you based on relevant facts & information.

7/11/2025 1:10pm It's so bizarre how the broadcast just ignores crashes on the track unless it's the stars. At Southwick somebody went down in the 2nd(?) 450 moto and there was a red cross flag for 2 or 3 laps, and barely a mention on the broadcast. They never named the downed rider.

7/11/2025 1:08pm I think tracks actually used to be way more gnarly, and safer. I feel like pre 4 stroke tracks were more technical and had more jumps, then after 4 strokes we traded 40 foot doubles right after a corner, to triple step ups with 100 ft run ins. Back when 4 strokes became more popular I remember being at the track and there was a guy visiting from California pitted next to me. He asked where all of the big jumps were, back home the tracks had big 100ft+ tables. I then watched him refuse to hit a decent sized...

7/11/2025 1:06pm Doubt it is any more dangerous that when I was a kid racing in the 90’s and early 2000’s The thing is social media now. Second something happens, even if its a local rider 3,000 miles away, you hear about it. When I racing in Northern California as a kid, we would never know if something bad happened to a kid in Florida

7/11/2025 12:03pm It was a really impressive performance and I love that he can put his ego aside and just line up for fun. It’s easy to get behind a rider that loves his sport so much. Valentino Rossi comes to mind as a good comparison for Cairoli. As much as he impresses me, it also put a light on some of the factory riders lack of performance. A retired soon to be 40 year old rider that has not raced full time for many years should NOT be able to beat a current factory rider that train every day, is younger...

7/11/2025 12:02pm I think it was more of a marketing move, since they’ve been “shaking down” the bike all year in MXGP. I think they wanted to promote the production bike by putting it on display at arguably the biggest US MX race of the year. If it makes some racers think twice about visiting their local Ducati dealer, then mission accomplished.
