For people who don't want to watch the video, JT basically saying both Monster Energy and Factory Kawi wanting to get paid and compensated to let him out of his contract. He also says he is obviously still under contract which creates a problem for some other riders who potentially looking for a new ride and currently not signing a contract because of the potential ride at Kawi so this situation puts a lot of people on hold basically. What a mess..
If i was Kawasaki or Monster I would want money back from the punk ass little quitter.
I wonder if Monster and Kawi would still want to be compensated if he put in 100% effort and still wanted out because it just wasn’t working out for him? I would think his interviews and lack of effort on the track have Monster and Kawi wanting to hit him where it hurts a little for all the bs. I don’t blame them, they have Sexton lined up for next year so they don’t need Prado at this point, Prados now the one in limbo with his career imo. Lose money to pay and get out of a contract, sign for less money with KTM, or ride a bike you don’t like for a couple years and who knows where he’ll end up then.
Interesting…I’m gonna say a coupl’a those names HAVE signed their contracts.
Just say the names bruh

Is there any way Prado could have turned out to be a worse deal for Kawi than it has?
Does character matter to brands? If so, is signing Prado a big risk for KTM?
Even with JP’s ”giving up” or not want to ”kill him self” shitshow on that bike, i still feel something is fishy at Kawi… historically there was and probably still is!
Sexton for sure wont ever get a KYB fork on the KX since their product came with Showa and thats how it will be raced!
Imagine him leaving Kawi midseason to finish of SX on a Suzuki, Duc or Beta! For free! 🤪
Not thinking it will happen, time will tell tough.
For clarification- are Kawi and Monster seeking compensation for this past year, or for the next contracted two years?
Kawi and Monster want him to pay, Prado wants Red Bull to pay Kawi/Monster for him or at least kick in some money for him. Red Bull said no.
I'd assume both lol
Prado doesn't have any money left because he wrote Deegan a fat check before Vegas to divert all the attention away from him.
Just wondering how these things work? How far forward do the teams pay?
If they haven’t, then there’s nothing to recoup. If they’ve paid the next twelve months, then fair enough, Prado should hand back that amount.
If it’s compensation for not delivering in the past year, then really they should cut their losses and start fresh. Dragging out the whole sorry saga will be toxic for all involved.
Red Bull is probably thinking, didn’t you just leave us for Monster last year and now you want us to give Monster money on your behalf? 😂😂😂 if he wants out, he just needs to pay up, of course I’m assuming he’s a multimillionaire and what Monster and Kawi want back shouldn’t hurt him that much if he really wants out of it. If he doesn’t want to pay, it can’t be that bad then right?
I’ll caveat with I have no idea how these contracts work and the pay. However, if a multi-year contract is signed and some parties to the contract have executed tasks (costs) in year one that are to be amortized over the three years I could see them wanting some of that back if another party to the contract says ‘I’m out’. I doubt it’s about direct pay to Jorge.
It is going to be cheaper to let him go than watch him run in 10th place for the next 2 years.
Jo is staying at HRC and was announced a couple weeks ago.
Jason has signed at HEP
Kenny has stayed with HEP
I am amazed that everyone is giving Jason a pass on leaving Kawi, when was the last time both 450 riders of any team basically quit without underlying team issues? I would categorize that Jason “quietly quit” kawi with a commonly used “personal reasons” excuse, then stopped riding and everyone gave him a pass… maybe there is more to the “it’s the bike/team” than everyone thinks … ET left Kawi for the same reason!
ML Any reason why prado cant join Tedder KTM? Keep the monster sponsorship but get a factory bike & resources from KTM?
The only reason I can see them wanting Jorge to payout his contract is if they paid him for the full 3 years up front. No way their would be arguing to get their money back, even if he was clearly mailing it in at the end.
Pit Row
Tedder does not get factory parts.
It has nothing to do with whether or not the other party already made expenditures. Almost any contract has penalties for early termination. Try to break your lease on your apartment and see what happens. Bottom line is he made a contractual commitment to Kawi to be there for a certain period of time. Him reneging on that causes programmatic upheaval for Kawi. They now have to adjust their entire program, go find another rider, etc etc.
The assumption is Jason quit because he was mad he wasn’t being resigned, not the bike. I don’t know if there is any proof of that, but that seems to be what everyone thinks
Jason had a thyroid issue he didn’t quit….and Kawi wasn’t going to re-sign him because they signed Sexton and had Prado…
It is normal in sports for teams to buy an athlete out of his contract. The team wants their money back for signing a rider to a long term contract. If you want the ability to leave at the end of The year sign a 1 year contract.
You got downvoted but Matthes said in one of his pods that KTM turned it down, they aren’t going to give Tedder a factory bike so he can keep his Monster deal.
Is anyone really switching from drinking monster to Red Bull because of a dirtbike rider? I don’t drink energy drinks, but I’ll buy some monsters just to watch this play out lol. I’d def want Prado to pay up or have to figure it out if I was his sponsor. Same with kawi. At this point it’s only detrimental to himself to mail it in every race, so let him. Chase can show the bike is capable while we watch Prado hole shot then fall back to top 20 and blame the power.
Prado is like herpes, you start out really happy, then things take a turn for the worst, then it never goes away. In the end, it affects everyone.
Simple question, who's funding it?
KTM is giving Prado a lifeline; they shouldn't need to go out of their way to supply more resources, staff, and finances to a team with a conflicting title sponsor and other conflicting partners from their worldwide factory efforts, just to get Prado on black KTM.
Tomac run KYB's.....
Yes, it could get worse if Pradi gets on a different bike and starts winning, then it would make Kawasaki look really bad.
