Sorry, I was out at the Area Qualifier all weekend... It is a question of safety, not broadcasting or broadcast rights. We loved having on-board footage from Adam Cianciarulo or Alex Martin and others last year, and hopefully we can continue that with ... more »

That top photo of Dick with Gunnar Lindstrom is from the first-ever AMA-sanctioned motocross race, in 1960 at a race called Ohio-X that took place in Croton, Ohio (also known as Hartford). At the time Edison Dye's Inter-Am series was not sanctioned. ... more »

Good call, as always Mr. Info. Hope that it doesn't come down to that, as the Johnsons are doing all they can to get Southwick up and running. But if it does, we have plenty of options... DC Racer X

Here's a good one: Ricky Ryan's best finish in SX was a sixth (between 1984 and March '87) before he won Daytona. He had a bunch of finishes, but never a top five before he showed up and won Daytona as a privateer in the 250 class. DC Racer X

I saw that and was thinking along the same lines, what a big turn of events for these guys, and I am not sure we've ever seen someone with more than one or two finishes go from a career-best 9th to a win in SX... But it's worth noting that a few guys ... more »

But which sponsor would he bag on? For what reason? If they did something stupid, he's a journalist and pundit with his own opinions, so have-at--it's his job to be critical. And Matthes does way more on his own with Pulp MX than he does as a contributor ... more »

The only thing "the top" has ordered from Matthes is more "Re-Raceables" with Weege and more in-house co-hosting (and the ensuing hot takes) from DV12. DC Racer X

Really good news Rupe! Been stopping by that place for years just to see how long it would be able to hold on, even though it was pretty much abandoned... Dad took me there to see my first pro race there in 1972.
