No, I am right here. I have done everything I can to get it fixed. I am not a streaming service, I am helping put on the races, and to your point, we're seeing some of the best racing in years. The path we tried when NBC Sports and peacock went away failed on the streaming front and now this new platform is trying to get it right. I saw it it freeze at the start of the first 250 moto and I just can't do anything about it when I'm on the other side of the country working at another race track. It came back on halfway through the first lap, but yes, we all missed the start.

I am sorry it's not working the way we thought it would when the season started.

Davey,

Most of us know this is not your fault and I for one appreciate your response. The situation is a disaster to say the least and we know you don't accept this either. Hopefully the break will give whomever is responsible enough time to at least make it watchable.

Thank you!

I hope you are joking. MX Sports, DMG, and the nationals is a multi million dollar venture. They got shit so locked down teams can’t even sell jerseys or shirts.

But you want the consumer to crowd fund a streaming platform for poor Davey?

It’s not like buying uniforms for the little sisters of the poor sports team.

The investments needed to have your own streaming platform needed to start happening a decade ago.

This group has milked the nationals for decades. Same tracks, same payouts, same production team. Same everything.

It’s called resting on your laurels and they have done it for years and years.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but that’s the reality. That’s why you have vulture companies like Flo Sports step in to stream and then rape the customer on the cost and provide a subpar streaming experience. Because there are NO other options.
I dont blame you for having that opinion but whats else do we do - Keep making new threads about how shit the production is? I am now of the opinion that the powers that be simply dont know what they're doing - I imagine that group of high schoolers in Better Call Saul who shoot ads for Saul to be running the MX stream at the moment. Except it isnt - that whole team needs to get dropped and a fresh team brought in. I bet the salaries of some new young people would be 20% of what is currently being paid anyway. Im talking about dumping the entire group of people responsible for streaming and bringing in fresh faces (the presenting team we all like and they can stay). Whoever ultimately decided to do this MAV+ BS and then change to FLO who literally do the exact same thing as MAV+ would be fired in any other job. Who decides to cut to ads (Weigandt was even clearly frustrated at one point) when they do anyway, its such a amateurishly produced comedy of errors I dont get how people just keep their jobs when the product they're responsible for absolutely sucks.

Wonder if its possible to monetize your product on YouTube, Live Stream and Replays. Post it for free, get more views, and then you sell more tickets?

That's what comedians are doing now. The days of HBO, comedy central, netflix, etc having the only ability to air your product are coming to a end.

Or

Up the game with the streaming service. Compared to MXGP or MotoGP, this mav flo bullshit works as good as flip phone internet.

I emailed Flo support and offered up my frustration (respectfully) with the poor quality feed on qualifying, moto 1 and the split screen ad failure. They just seem to cut and paste the same PR response for each different thing.

I also have suggested twice now that spoilers not be included in the replay thumbnails.

I think all we can do as a group is just email them when problem exist and persist and hope that they work harder to make certain the product is complete and error free. I think we are stuck with the ads unfortunately, but if they could figure out how to keep the live feed going on the split screen it would be tolerable. Only 1 time in the 4 hour broadcast did the split screen stay with the live feed.

I agree with the others too, the user interface of the app itself is pretty bad. MavTV plus at least had that right, it was easy to find and made the series seem like it was a feature and not just an afterthought.

DC, while I appreciate your response to some of these complaints, you are still failing to address a HUGE issue. The production is absolutely terrible, AND why are we getting ads/commercials in the MIDDLE of the racing?
We aren't asking for something we haven't had before; we are literally telling you we would pay more for a better product.
You told us before the season this was going to be a good move. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt you believed that. From the first moto we all knew something was terribly wrong REGARDLESS of the streaming issues.
We had a feature DURING THE RACING, and then more ads/commercials.
We were then told the error was the "free" stream was pushed to the "paid" stream, and it would be different. It hasn't been different.
Bondo is NOT good at his job. Period. You always talk about this being a business, and business being business you need to listen to the 99% of your PAYING customers when we say a change needs to be made.
Yes Vital is a fickle bunch and as a whole impossible to please, but this is different. You have diehard life-long moto fans saying they are losing interest because of these things.
It's that bad. It's NOT just because of "no input signal" or mismatched voices. The streaming AND the production/ad/commercial issues are actually hurting this sport right now.

at the moment. i will take a facebook live kid standing on the side of the track with his iphone. he can even commentate it for all i care. I hate hearing how great and competitive our motocross is right now.....and we can't even watch it lol.....so we don't even know if thats true. every little tidbit that hits youtube is struck down as fast as it shows up.

NBC Sports/Peacock didn’t go away. While watching TdF I see the NBC Sports logo on the commentators shirts, graphic on screen, media trucks in the background. Seems like motocross left NBC Sports not the other way around like we keep getting told.

By process of elimination, if MAVTV+ was a disaster and now FLO Racing is not performing well, the problem has to be upstream of them. I am guessing the production crew at the track has got issues. Not enough bandwidth to get it to the streaming service.... something else?? What do I know.... I'm no streaming/internet guru but that's what my feeble mind is telling me. I've said this before, I'm glad I'm "watching" this from the sidelines and haven't lost any money with FLO. It will be interesting to see what MX Sports comes up with for next year, if anything! They have a year to come up with a solution.

Exactly. Peacock never went away. Sports programming is still a prominent part of NBC (Peacock) programming strategy. It's a total joke to say that option went away. It never went away. Streaming Content providers are HUNGRY for content. Especially content that brings an audience that will pay top dollar for a subscription. They just want it only accessible from their platform is all. Not shared on another provider (ala MavTV).

NBC Sports Network, the home of Pro Motocross for eleven years, went off the air last fall. We couldn't stay on peacock alone. We had to have a network to produce the shows, even in this day and age. Streaming service-only on peacock was not an option and we ended up on MAVTV for 2022.

That was strange all of the NBC Sports branding for a channel that no longer exists. The TdF was broadcast on USA Network.

Edit: I looked back and the branding was "NBC Sports" not "NBC Sports Network", which is a catch-all for any event produced by NBC and broadcast on their various networks.

They have both the Eurosport and USA broadcast on peacock. The Eurosport coverage was unreal.

The picture quality from Loretta’s, without 3 tractor trailers full of equipment and a crew of 75 will still be 100 times better then that USGP of Carlsbad 240p coverage we had Saturday.

Is it just me or is the Flo app and also the MavTV app very difficult to find the actual race? They have so much content on these apps that it makes it hard to find the race even when its live. NBC sports app was the last app that ran the nationals that actually ran smooth in my opinion.
This bugs the crap out of me. I bought the app for one thing. It made me choose favorites when I signed up. But the content I want is buried.

I have to search "motocross" every time on the app. And the search button is hard to use. It does not auto complete even though thats the only thing I've ever typed there. There's no catagory for motocross.

I couldn't find the races on saturday even searching for motocross. Peacock at least always put them right on my home page.

Hey DC, just curious why there needs to be a network to produce the shows? I am asking out of ignorance and as an avid enthusiast of Motocross and MotoGP. I would happily pay ~$120 a year for a subscription coverage of Motocross that had the production / camera quality in the realm of MotoGP. I dream of the HD slo-mo shots motocross could have in the middle of the broadcast highlighting the technical nuances of the sport like MotoGP does. It seems like the MXGP and MotoGP subscription based stream broadcasting is tried and proven, is this a route you guys have thought of trying? Cheers and good luck, we all want the best for this sport and know you do too.

DC, as President, can you tell them to stop airing commercials with two laps to go?

Perhaps a terse email will get the point across.

The crap streaming technology is one thing.

The absolute atrocious production is another.

As President of MX Sports, can you use your clout and tell them to stop showing commercials with two laps left. It’s your product. It’s your team.

So, you head up mxsports and claim you can do nothing to get things back on track? I find it hard to believe that in this day and age that you are powerless to control this dumpster fire.

The whole thing with Lucas being a primary sponsor of the nationals and then turning the streaming over to a company owned by Lucas smells very odd.

I'd really be interested in knowing how Luongo is getting this done and mxsports cannot? Maybe you need to get some tips on getting this done from elsewhere before this all goes belly up.

DC, you choosing to reply to the low-hanging fruit of childish accusations while ignoring the rest of our legitimate concerns is not a good look. Sorry...

You reply to those and then say you're off to another race....respectfully, this is getting even worse.
You are losing the faith of the fans who have more or less stuck by you for the last few months.
What else do you want me to do? MAVTV Plus didn't work, they moved everything to FloRacing, and it's not ideal, but it's all we could do in the middle of the series. There are four races left, we can't just quit showing them.

Perhaps a terse email will get the point across.

The crap streaming technology is one thing.

The absolute atrocious production is another.

As President of MX Sports, can you use your clout and tell them to stop showing commercials with two laps left. It’s your product. It’s your team.
I’m sure the sponsors are not happy about everybody struggling to watch (fewer eyes on their ads), so MXSports is probably going to cram as many commercials in as possible for the rest of the year to make good on whatever contracts they have with the sponsors.

Likely why DC can’t acknowledge the in-moto ads as being a bad thing. If you notice, he acts like they do not exist.

What do I want you to do? The same thing we ALL want you to do; not pick and choose what to address.
My original post was pretty clear it's NOT just about the streaming issues. For me I've never had an issue streaming or watching on YouTube TV (MAVTV channel)
My points are based on things entirely in your control, such as Bondo's performance and decisions, and the ad/commercial placement this year. Maybe the ad/commercial placement ISN'T in your control, but we have no idea because you won't address that issue.
Actually, you did address that after the first race, saying it was a mistake due to the paid vs free stream.
Well it hasn't changed, and we are still paying to see ads instead of racing??
You are better than this, DC.
