In the case of Dungey #5 was open and the AMA felt that they would make an exception for his comeback, however long it lasts. And #222 has been used the last couple of seasons by Brandon Hugney of Pennsylvania, but he has not qualified or picked up any points with it yet, and agreed that Cairoli could use it as well since the AMA can work around...

You're out there in left field on the vision thing.....maybe stop looking down at your front fender? I've ridden countless times without them, never have I noticed my vision being obstructed. I'd say it is a regional thing as well. See them everywhere on the east coast, coincidentally we have a lot of hills and rocks. Rocks break fingers, and broken fingers suck.

I don’t really care about my results, and I’m not going as fast as I used to so I race 30B, (will be 40B in October), I’d rather be at the back of B instead of win C, I don’t want to be on the gate with C/D class guys, they are sketch off the starts and just make bad decisions.
