Reed stalked Carmichael, and the pace was unbelievable.  I don't believe either of them made a single mistake the entire race until Ricky crashed trying to recover from Reed's pass.

San Diego when Tomac and Jett went head to head.  Tomac won.  Unbelievable race!

Also, my son and I got to witness the very first backflip on a motorcycle by Cary Hart on my son's birthday at Gravity Games in 2000.

1998 Southwick MX 338 AMA National, local boys Doug Henry and John Dowd both went 1-1 in their respective classes. That was an absolute dream come true for any fan from the northeast. Both of those guys grew up within a 1/2 hr. from there and accomplished what the rest of us never thought possible. I kept pinching myself for hours to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Miami SX '89. Too Hip's all-time winner record breaker(28)/final win, Beast from the East's last to first maiden victory as a 16 year old, and JMB on the podium as the reigning 125 World Champ before he left back to Europe to win the 250 World Championship that year.

My friends and I were there setup by the fence in front of the ledge. I still remember us talking during practice about who had a chance to win that day. Not one of us would have thought Moates would have been top ten. To see him ride near perfect for 90 minutes was shocking. One of the greatest moments in my spectating experiences for 50+ years

Hangtown '91 swamp race, one moto each class. Left before they called off the second moto's. Millville when RC lapped everyone in that swamp fest.

Basically if you see me at a race grab your f'kin umbrellas.

One of the greatest races ever on US soil, when privateer Marty Moates took it to the GP and Factory riders and was the first American to win in his home country. They gave out little American flags as you entered the track and all it was was a wave of flags as Marty went by! 😎

Marty was such a cool dude it's a shame what happened to him.

May he rest in peace....😢

Born and raised in So Cal I never missed a USGP or Saddleback National and I feel very fortunate to have witnessed some of the greatest races ever (ex. the Magoo Double jump at Saddleback).

Also being able to race on those very tracks was quite an eye opener when you realize how fast and what superb athletes those guys really are for grinding out 45min+ 2 laps in BRUTAL heat. 🥵

The famous ' Skunk Stripe ' US Helmets.

The Custom Painters, I feel, went way too far away from it.

Any MXdN / ISDE, I look for it, but it's not very recognizable nowadays, which is a bummer. It seemed, to me, a wonderful tradition for the US Teams / Riders.

Speaking of Henry and Dowd. I was there at Hangtown 1991 when they both won their very first national of their careers that day. It was the infamous flood race where it was such a wet muddy mess that they only ran 1 moto in each class.

My first SX ever was watching Villo win his first at home, Seattle 2009. Also saw Millsaps win his first at A1, on a black KTM maybe?

EDIT: memory is terrible, wasn’t Millsaps first win, wasn’t a black bike, and wasn’t a KTM 🤣 2013 A1 on the Suzuki. I do remember it being a big surprise that he won though

2001 Anaheim 2 (McGrath's last win) and Vegas that same year will always be burned into my brain. Crowd was nuts at both, but in completely different ways.

The late Tom White won the action photo and I believe Marty’s friend Jim Beauchamp has the portrait.

Good times!👍

Saw Marty Moates win the USGP

Saw Andre Mahlerbe break his key at the USGP

Saw McGrath race a 4stroke for the first time in Santa Maria

Rode on the same track as Gary Jones during a ride day at Indian Dunes

Went there many times over the years. Most notably the Super Bowl of Motocross that Gary Semics was robbed of courtesy of a thrown chainSad

I forget what year it was when MA800 stood on Tedesco's front wheel at Glen Helen. We were right there no more than 10 feet away watching the whole exchange go down, laughing our asses off. Someone else turned around and got in the middle of it too if I remember right ?  Comedy show 😄

Saw Jobe leap over Malherbe at Hawkstone, and Thorpe come from last to lead at Farliegh Castle.

Saw Everts ride round the outside of Bubba at Matterley, and Max Anstie beat Jeffrey Herlings at Mxon to go 1-1.

Saw Febvre crash and bend his bars at Maggiora, and Shaun Simpson win his first GP at Lierop.

Saw Herlings lap everyone bar JVH at the same track.

Some of those are legendary, some of them are not so much but all proper memorable moments.

my history was being at Stewart’s Supercross debut, McGrath last SX win, and Anaheim 1 2005. Those stick out more than anything.

Carlsbad motocross history is cool it’s sad nobody talks about it.  Tony Hawk has a shop in the business park built on that land.
