I don’t know of any tracks in Canada or Mexico that could handle it. The North American rounds would be the core US Pro Motocross tracks that could handle the large crowds. My point with continental rotation was to give other countries in Europe a shot instead of just only going to Ernee, Matterly and Assen. Ernee and Matterly are great but there are other great tracks in Europe that could handle the race. Just like there are other great tracks in North America that could handle the race aside from Red Bud and Ironman.

I’m not throwing shade on Red Bud. I think they did a great job with the race and they’re in a great location for the race. I was just really disappointed with Ironman and bummed that it is rumored to be returning there. I hope everyone claiming it will be there in 2028 is wrong and a different location is announced tomorrow. So many other great options.

If Bud can’t negotiate with MX Sports, I don’t think he stands a chance to come to an agreement with InFront.

Glen Helen is a great track but I think they would want to see some effort in making the track look more presentable on TV. Everything off the mountain is pretty ugly as it stands right now. Tractor tires as turn markers and nothing green at the bottom of the hill.

Jody know about this? 🤣  Yeah, you've got good points and I agree, a great track, though aesthetically challenged. Some adjustments could be made, like how Spring Creek moved and separated the Spot-a-Pots so they don't dominate views from Mount Martin. As an MX fan, the beauty I see is the design of the track. But then, I'm an engineer.

Just watched the MXGP/MXGP2 in Erneé. That's a beautifully designed track from a specktater perspective. And they managed to carve an interesting track out of the hillside, kinda like Thunder Valley.

Gopher Dunes or Walton come to mind. Both close to London for Hotel Capacity, TV infrastructure can be trucked in, Temp Cell Towers etc. both facilities are substantially larger than Lomell, who has hosted this. Gopher would have the least weather impacts.

I have heard from an inside source at Ernée that it will be thunder valley for 2028 and St Jean D’angeley in 2029

Unadilla for 2028 would be great! But it won't happen.

Well according to JT$ this past week, Branson is the greatest venue the sport has to offer so surely it’s a no brainer to have the MXoN there, right? Grinning

Personally I don’t see Ironman making all those changes to the track/facility unless they were guaranteed at least a couple events. I will continue to pray to the moto gods that it does end up Millville at some point in my lifetime, though! Glen Helen would be pretty awesome as well.

Like they do at Assen every time it’s there??

Certainly think there's at least a few tracks in Canada that would do the event justice track wise, but getting in and out as well as venue size would be an issue.

Then there's the fact that most track owners don't want the headache of it all.

Not a chance in hell. Getting in and out of there in a nightmare and hotels are way too far away

I'll pay to go to Ironman but I'd rather see it elsewhere

Dear god please don’t have it at Ironman. That is unless they make changes to bring it back to its former glory

How did the 2010 event go? I love Thunder as a rider, but camping is abysmal even on a local weekend and not a sliver of shade in sight for spectating.

2010 was cool. I doubt they would allow camping again like they did that year. It got pretty wild. I remember buses parked in a circle connected by 2x12’s along the roofs and huge bonfire in the middle of one “campsite”. 😂

Thunder Valley is hands down the easiest for people flying in for the race. Tons of hotels and basically in the city of Denver. Not high on my list for watching though. Unless you’re viewing from the pro pit area, pretty good on that side.

Am I right in saying the martins dad never wanted a MXON at Millville but the brothers do?

If it's Ironman I'm out I thought that place sucked.

It's already confirmed to be at Ironman.

Am I the only one happy with this decision lol?  We don’t need them coming over and fucking up anymore of our tracks layouts.  They already ruined Ironman, so they may as well stick with it.

I don’t think the decision has been announced. Just because a podcast says “it looks like we are going back to Ironman” doesn’t mean it has been confirmed. I’m holding onto hope that it’s anywhere but Ironman. It will be the first one I skip if it is.

That’s my understanding; now that the bros are running the track, they’ve said they’re keen on hosting MXdN. The tracks certainly good enough (best track on the AMA circuit imo), but how’s the supporting infrastructure and location?

Supporting infrastructure isn’t as good as Red Bud or Thunder Valley. But it’s better than Ironman. There were very few hotels nearby the Crawfordsville area and the ones that are there were completely booked by InFront and teams before fans could even attempt to book a year ahead. Many more hotels available in Rochester. Minneapolis, while a little further away, has everything needed.

Yet they have it at Assen… Talk about an aesthetically challenged track in every possible way.

They’re gonna dump sand on the Assen road course and make a track out of it like they did in 2019.

The younger Martins seem to be interested in holding it in Millville. The only concern would be Infront making US tracks worse. Ironman did some of it on its own and then Infront made it worse.

Let's go out on a limb and hold the MXoN in Park City, Utah.

Holding the Motocross des Nations at a major ski resort in Park City, Utah (such as Park City Mountain or Deer Valley) would be a highly creative concept.

Ski resorts have successfully hosted motorcycle events in the past—but converting a premier alpine resort infrastructure would present unique hurdles.

 Why It Could Work,:

Built-In Amphitheater: Lower ski slopes and terrain parks (the "boarding park") naturally offer incredible elevation changes, drops, and steep inclines. This would make for a highly technical, spectacular track with natural viewing angles for spectators.

Massive Infrastructure: Park City's base areas possess the exact type of infrastructure needed for a massive international crowd: large paved parking lots for the team paddocks. Extensive lodging, transport systems, and vendor villages.

Tourism Hub: Park City is highly experienced in hosting massive global events, most notably the 2002 Winter Olympics and the annual Sundance Film Festival.
