Gah. Some people. It's simple: the AMA is not a God, and they, like any other sports governing body, have no control over whether or not a PAID PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE decides to alleviate a painful injury by way of a (legal) shot or pill or ointment in order to continue to compete.
I looked it up, injections are legal during competition as long as they are <100ml volume and do not contain any of the prohibited substances *unless a TUE is given.

IMO, everyone is put in a tough spot, if Jett wins then his brother loses yet another championship by the skin of his teeth due to a mental mistake he makes.
