I while back i said something about his language and I got blasted on here with negative reply's. I don't care how much anyone swears and uses bad language but I also don't believe in swearing in front of women and children and lets be honest this sport is full of kids that watch this stuff. Some of the people he has on his show are the same people that are some kids hero. Other than that his show is pretty good Bro.Smile

I tried to listen to a couple of his videos on Youtube when he had riders on that I was interested in, but I just can't listen to him talk.

I would like to hear what Herlings has to say, but I will wait for him to come on the Whiskey Throttle show. I really enjoy Ping's format.

My only real gripe with Jase is the way he exaggerates and oversells everything he's talking about. There's only so many times I can listen to someone talk about how some track was the "gnawliest ever bro" and some rider was "fucking INSANE bro".

I’d 100% listen if he spoke normal. He doesn’t and I just can’t stomach it.
Guess it’s a sign of the times that being ‘Vanilla’ is passé.

One time i wrote a paper in college and the premise was to write about one of our own great adventures so i thought having cuss words made it very authentic to my 20 year ild mind…no one else thought that. We exchanged papers with other students to proof read in class and every kid especially girls were like “good story i liked it but why the cussing?” I submitted it anyway and the teacher said the same thing, dont do that again. It doesnt make the story better

I enjoy the guy, no one is perfect.
The target audience for his YouTube views prob isn’t the crusty old fucks that hang around vitalmx
I concur and I'm a crusty old fuck. Seems like a pretty good dude

I don't mind the swearing at all. What gets me is the constant interrupting or when he flips the conversation and starts talking about himself (jiu jitsu). BUT the guests are great.

If you look at Pulp, the host is a gigantic man-baby and half of the time you're listening to ads. BUT the entertainment value usually is through the roof.

They all have their pros and cons, i'm just glad we have different options.

Lets be honest, every single podcast out there has its negatives and positives....

Gypsy does say "bro" & "sick"a lot, cuts the guest off at times and can try and turn into the character hes interviewing to a degree but his guests are great, he goes deep and gets them talking about different things. Plus hes actually replies numerous times on social media to my DM's

Mathes is also great and has some amazing guests and co hosts on all of his platforms but he's never wrong and will never admit when he is, talks shit a lot and then has to have the last word when someone disagrees with him with a little jab at the end.

Ping is a great interviewer and listen and I do enjoy his racing stories but i just cant listen to Langston, that's just me.

Blair is great but I'm in it for MX talk and not so much on the music or his business and you also have to pay but again, that's just me.

Swap is one I cant listen to, his questions sound like he hasn't pre thought them and struggles to come up with them on the spot but has also has some great guys in.

Thomas is good and covers both series pretty well, I actually dont have anything really negative about him.

Lets just enjoy what we like, listen to what we like and embrace what we have and the choices we've got!

The only problem I have with him is he seems really concerned with being the 'cool' guy but it comes off as trying too hard to be the 'cool' guy, which I can forgive cause I believe that is just an insecurity that he's dealing with..
Strikes me as the sort of dude that is cool when he forgets to try..

I also really appreciate the shorter cuts on youtube as I never wanna just sit and listen to a podcast for over an hour in one sitting

Hes established now. Why change. He does his thing pretty bloody good.

-He gets a little bit excited - but I have come to like it. Better than being a depressed cunt.

-The studio setup is bitchin - nice job guy.

Also find his voice and accent nauseating.

Not for me.
His limited knowledge? That's laughable.. The guy eats and breaths this sport, has his whole life. I've heard him speak with fluency on the 90s, 00s...

Knowing guys names from the 90’s and 2,000’s is trivial, some of us are more into the bikes rather then the guys that ride them.

His podcasts have honestly really grown on me in the last year, as he's had some amazing guests that we usually don't get to hear from. I'm pretty good at zoning out when he goes into his long monologues about jiujitsu, self taught psychology, weed and hard work, and only pay attention to what his guests have to say. I'm a huge Pulp fan, but love getting to hear from Anderson, Herlings and other guys that don't call in regularly.

If the host of the GypsyTales podcast could cut his 5 minute long rambles down to 30 seconds, I could deal with all the other shit. He has great guests, it's well produced, the questions are good (when he finally gets to them), and he knows how to promote his clips. Just please, for the love of god, stop with the self-obsessed rambling.

Interesting to dig this topic up (I’m the OP) I barely even remember posting this, but I remember the herlings episode.

Gypsy has come a long way, I still don’t listen often but if there is a guest I wanna hear, I’ll tune in.

Love him or hate him, he gets all the top guests

Love his interviews and content of his interviews. Not a fan of his opinions.

Every subculture has a podcast with a dude who makes every podcast like 60-70% about himself somehow instead of the guest.

Gypsy has gotten better.  He’s in the 40-50% range now bud I’d like it to be more like 80-90% about the interviewee 🤷🏽‍♂️

He talks about himself way too much and his own personal stories. Like, I’m listening to hear what your guest has to say, not you gypsy

Has anyone watched the series Trailer park boys. They were quoted as saying fuck more times then there were minutes in the show. Not wanting to offended a fellow Canadian . But has anyone heard a newfie talk. My niece is married to a very nice, funny newfie. And my god does he use the F-word a lot.

“ So I just got this new fucking drone, jeez fuck can it go a long ways away.it  can fuckin sees where ya been too.and fuck it’s quiet.”

Ask other people to make an opinion about your language. You will probably find you/everyone swears more than they will admit.

“I wanted to ask you about something, like mate I’ve gone through this before. When I’m doing jiu jitsu, it’s literally the same feeling as winning a Supercross championship, like bro can you even imagine Haiden Deegan doing jiu jitsu? Literally such a savage. Can you just like, take a moment to talk about how impressive you think everything that Haiden is doing is and tell me why he’s literally the best thing for the sport? And privateers mate, they need to go away if we want to be like F1. Just like, talk about that for a second.”

Idk. Some funny comments but where else can you listen to long form podcasts with guys from our sport. Some of you guys are just whiny cunts. If the episode is lame I shut it off. If it’s good I keep listening. Keep bitching, your probably limp wristed lames from commie California anyway

I find myself tapping my arrow key forward through the video like I'm sending a telegraph just to get to the point where the guest talks, but I do enjoy some of his stuff.

Classic journalism is good for getting news and stories but less personality. I think Jase's talkative & slightly profane style sets a more freewheeling vibe that the guests enjoy and feed off of. I heard more from Tomac in the GT episode than I'd heard from him in his entire career.

Ironically the thing that made me first respect him was his press conference questions. There've been a few post races where he was clearly the most articulate and researched journalist in the room.

I hadn't listened to any Gypsy Tale pods for a few years, but I did listen to the Olly Stone one recently and Jase is nowhere near as bad as he used to be when it comes to talking about himself/comparing himself to others etc.
