Between, the elec, Chinese options, Japan, Ktm, Beta etc. something has to give. Tracks are shutting down all over America. If we don’t have any place to ride there will be no bikes to sell.

I was talking to a big Triumph dealer here in FL, and the only way they've been able to move the 250 or 450 is by giving them away price wise.
Said more Ducati 450's move than the Triumphs.
OT, but locally I haven't seen any on any track/trail from East to west coast of FL.

My 250 has been excellent so far. Got a great deal on it last spring. After a year of owning it I’d buy the bike again if I had to do it over.

I had a 2012 675r that I bought brand new, it ran great super fast but a few years into owning it some problems started and the bike left me stranded more than any other vehicle I ever owned. Some of the problems had been going on with the bike for 6 years since gen 1 2006. Some of the wires were so small my wire strippers could not strip the wire and the bike caught fire 2x. 12 was the last year for gen 2 675s
I think a big issue is the triumph dealers are typically euro street bike dealers, not dirt bike shops. So the employees likely have little background in moto, don't have stacks of mx tires, moto gear, parts, etc in stock. And if you only get a handful of dirt bikes in then you're not going to invest the money into all the inventory to sell to moto customers since you'll only have a few customers most likely. I truly don't know how they thought this would work. I'm glad more brands are getting into moto but theres a lot more to it than just making a good bike.
Who says Triumph is only running one 250 next year? No 450?
I had a similar year tripler. Leaked like a sieve but god was it a fun bike.

Even the dealerships that do moto if they don’t structure their setup for selling Triumph moto correctly it’s also poor.
When I put money down on my 2024 Triumph I initially went with a large local dealership well known for selling another brand of mx bikes. They had their Triumph street guy doing the MX stuff, and he had zero clue about mx in any way shape or form. Would’ve made a whole lot more sense to let the guy(s) selling the other brand also takeover just the Triumph MX portion but no…

a fair number of triumph dealers also sell Ducati or KTM/Husky, so maybe combined they'll do enough volume? still a weird situation, although the ADV stuff is getting more popular and there's a little bit of overlap there.

Yea I just started watching mxgp and they are doing really well… I really wish they would make more of an effort in the US. I feel like having 2 250 riders puts you in a situation were your probably going to have several races without rider on one of the coasts. After listening to Jeremy Coker on Pulpmx it sounds like they will do some team support which I think might be the future of American racing anyway.
Who’s their 2 250 riders going to be? Last I heard was that they were only doing one 250 with Deacon Denno.
Apparently Triumph did a safety recall on TF models in ‘25 and ‘26 and reportedly instructed dealers to install upgraded drivetrains at the same time it fixed the initial safety issue (something with the brake reservoir).
Don't forget to mention 11,000-12,000 bucks for a new 450
The only one I have ever seen for sale used was a 250x converted to be road legal. Really strange choice for a plated bike IMO.
Not sure. Heard they were looking and talking to guys but I haven’t heard any one name for sure. Seems like Gilliam Farres would be the natural fit but I heard he doesn’t want to race in the US anymore.
Farres is crushing it right now. It would be really cool to see him give it another shot over here.
He's moving up to MXGP.
I heard he was going to Kawi which doesn’t make any sense why triumph wouldn’t do everything to keep him.
