Your last sentence is the only truthful statement in your whole paragraph. The metallurgy and finish of the internal parts is no trade secret whatsoever. Any numbnuts can go online, buy the parts from a competitors bike, and have them analyzed for metallurgy and finish. Triumph has "fancier" metallurgy/coatings/finishes in their 765cc Moto2 engines than anything in a production four stroke single off road engine. Same kind of problem thing hamstrung KTMs RC16 MotoGP engine until two races ago. Outside supplier screwed up a valvetrain part costing them reliability and performance that if they started the season with would have...

9/30/2026 9:15am A rider was killed from that bar clamp issue. And the KTM gas cap issue sucked. I must have gotten five different caps for my 2005.5 250SXF. Every one of them would eventually dump gas in your lap if you filled the tank over 2/3 full.

Windham didn't even skip a beat. Boom GTFO the way jackass. Textbook. 😄 For me it's Ralph, RC, and Emig just losing it in the booth and laughing their asses off. You NEVER see Windham doing that. 15 years later and Friese still hasn't learned.

The thing I always love about this is that except for DV there aren't many times Windham pulled passes like that. Just goes to show he knew how to do it if he had to. And even that was smooth as hell like everything else he did.

I’ve said this in other threads but Deegan always shows who he truly is when his back is against the wall, so all this “he’s different now, he’s maturing, he’s humble etc” is completely untrue.
