Honest question , has some died from heatstroke at an AMA National ?

These pros need to grab their nuts. Remember they're men and go out and moto down.

Big difference between a 4 lap moto that lasts 6 minutes and the intensity/pace that these pros do over the course of the day between qualifying, moto 1, and moto 2. The ability to recover between sessions alone is extremely difficult.

Not saying he's never experienced heat/traveled to a desert, but it's like saying someone from San Francisco should be used to heat, Death Valley gets hot.

I didn’t argue anything. OP said wonder how he will go being from Spain, someone asked the relevance of Spain, I explained Prado is from Spain which is what made it relevant.

The Lawrence’s are from Gold Coast of Australia.
Sexton is from Illinois

They’ll all be fine

Yeah but those kids in texas got it on lock down. I understand where he coming from. But a 4 lap local race isn't a full 35 minute moto!  It's not the same.

Didn't Sexton win a 250 moto 1 at ww ranch a few years ago then had to miss the 2nd moto due to heat? I remember ac92 complaining about the heat that day as well and he grew up, trained and raced in fl his whole life.

We were there and it was for sure hot as fuck!

I think Josh would have been fine if not the whole kicking, kicking while sitting there heat soaking to death. Rip

Sexton - Won M1 in 2019 in the heat at WW Ranch then didn't start M2

Yes, Sexton is in better shape now but it's not a given. Heat will take you when you think you are OK. And he's out anyways for this year.

Bruh, we hang out in that heat all day. We're not in motorhomes. Literally there from 7am-5pm. And racing 4 or more motos. These aren't professional athletes with strict hydration regimens. These are kids eating nachos and sour patch kids for lunch. You think the kids on 65s stretching out every single jump aren't maxed out on hr? The pros sit in ac all day, taking a shower. Sitting in ice,  getting an iv, then have the mechanic wait on the line with the bIke

 They're fine.

Now i know that you know that we know its not even close to the same thing.

Anyways here in the peidmont of NC its been around 90 for a couple weeks but we are about to hit triple digits this week.  Add the humidity we have its about to the a rough one.  Im a ups driver and sweat is running down my Crack standing at the morning meeting.

This is hilarious. Go to Houston and let me know how you like that humidity.

You keep naming places that are not hot, then you mentioned Sexton, who is from a hotter place than anyone you mentioned, who had to DNS a moto and wasn't the same for a while after because of the heat.

Remember Tomac won his debut then ruined the rest of his season after getting too hot.

I’ve not mentioned one single place that is hot or not hot so I’ve zero clue what you are going on about.

I think you’re making an incorrect assumption that Texas is a dry heat. It’s not a dry heat. Very humid and often times lows don’t dip below 90 at night so you just wake up and it’s miserably hot already. Michigan summers are for sure on the mild side compared to Texas.

MD is typically high heat and high humidity in the mid 90’s - 100’s (real temperature not inflated) with 90-98% humidity.

Take a Shower and by the time you walk outside to the car your already soaked with sweat.

I wish we had some science on this, but in my experience heat tolerance isn't about fitness.

We currently have 38-40 celsius here in germany which is like 105 in Fahrenheit (some cities here peaked at 110 Fahrenheit). If it would only be for one day it'd okay, but currently this is already ongoing for a week. Houses are made out of thick stone walls and not every house has an AC. Spain and France are even worse right now. Absolutely insane situation currently haha

it’s always the same thing. Someone makes a statement about how hot or cold it’s going to be and the folks that live in the extremes pop in to say how much of a pussy everyone else is compared to them.

Happens on every Internet forum and in person.  In Mexico one winter and a couple over heard us talking about the St Louis airport might get snowed in. They asked how much snow, oh that’s nothing like we get in MinnesOta, like no shit Sherlock.

Overheat badly enough once and you can lose your future ability to cool off effectively! and things will be worse.
