I don't mind the color scheme. Sure, a bit abrupt change to blue, but Honda in the past had blue in their past as a secondary color

Yeah I’m not going to lie, that works edition has already grown on me a lot! I think the graphics and added white blends it together a lot better.

I don't think it's the combo (at least it isn't for me) - the best looking CRs ever were the red/blue models of the mid-eighties, so there's the pedigree.

It's the execution - the WE has graphics that transition/blend the red and blue (and is much more tolerable), but the standard model looks like a complete afterthought and accident with the way the "H" is clipped by the blue sidepanel; like original one was damaged and replaced with a solid blue one just to have something there until they could get a correct replacement.

So July for regular 450, and October for works edition? Seems backwards?

Works Edition always comes later. Also, I was told more like September for the regular 450.

Ouch, Sep to late. Need new bike and what you wrote about it being close to KTM got me thinking.

Triumph I'm not touching until they fixed transmission and shortcomings but that's was my other option.

I love the Honda, but I'm pretty tall and I don't feel comfortable on this bike... I found the older models a bit unstable and the cockpit was pretty cramped.
Luckily, there are no bad bikes, just bad riders 😂

I gotcha. Somewhatof like the 27 Huskys where they used one size font too big and the  H & A are both cut off for some weird reason. Could of fit Honda without the H disappearing where the blue panel is at. But get how the styling looksout of place with the blue panel right next to the HONDA.

Only thing I didn't like on the team bikes was the Petronas logo. It throws everything off. There has to be a better way to make it look good.

I was always told Honda has good rider triangle and cockpit for taller riders. Not as good as kawi but still good.

I don't care for the blue or the graphics but usually when I don't like something at first it grows on me.

Embargo is up! I had the chance to fly to Japan about a month ago to sample the all-new 2027 Honda CRF450R, its counterpart the HRC Works Edition, and even back-to-back it against a 2026 model.

@ML512 thanks for the video. You and Mosiman said much of the same. My questions would be, how does the foot peg relocation affect, if at all, those that ride on the balls of their feet vs arches? My decrepit old body just isn't up the the Lawrence riding position. For those that haven't tried, the ass out, inverse back arch, shoulders rolled forward, toes in, balls of you're feet riding style is a whole set is muscles and reflexes that don't come naturally.

You talked about turn in and cornering, but how about just general agility? Does it feel like it makes direction changes easier?

I saw it, turn in on corners isn't the only kind of direction change.

I really like it.

I also really like the 26 all red.

Hondas just look so refined to my eye 👁️

I couldn’t handle last gen 450 power, no chance I’m good enough to ride this bike. But I’ll be first in line for the 250.

Pretty impressive to drop 6 lbs off the motor and 9 pounds in total, not to mention everything else they have accomplished with this bike-wowza. Judging by the MXGP results the bike obviously works. Honda is not playin'. And a pretty big effort to bring the moto media to Japan and give them the tour they did. And I love the colour combo.

Why wasn't Cooksey invited to Japan?

DC had him scratched off the list.

Duh.

The prior 2 gen Hondas were so nice looking, as far as body lines. This one is nice too, but maybe slightly worse. The blue I just dont like how they did it. Looks very out of place, even on the race bikes. But I can live with that (or change it.) The actual mechanical changes all sound amazing. As someone who likes Hondas but sort of doesn't fit the rider profile for them, this model seems to touch on many areas that I would like. Hopefully it's as good as it seems. It's crazy that they met sound restrictions and also gained hp. Whereas the YZ lost 3hp with the sound baffles etc. Not that it needed more ppwer but just making a point, and I was not expecting that. The direction of the chassis, sounds much more friendly.

Yeah she’s really ugly but she has a great personality. Sorry man looks and first impressions are still important. Yes we almost all change plastic anyway but there’s no denying that’s awful
