Race Tech and, I believe, Factory Connection do the same thing.

Go to their "school" (attend a bunch of seminars usually), learn their ways, their suspension philosophies and tuning techniques (or whatever) and your " diploma" is you get to open a Race Tech, a Factory Connection, or a TBT Franchise shop, basically. The "Brand Name" gives your shop credibility, theoretically.

Then be their indentured servant, basically.

Andreani in Europe has same type of thing. They make you buy their shock vacuum pump too.

Our local TBT guy here in Oklahoma announced a couple days ago that he is longer with them.

Yeah, Brady was one of the couple that didn't attend the annual Summit TBT requires.

I assume like any normal job, if I have a mandatory meeting, going to race my dirt bike isn’t a good enough excuse to not attend. But what do I know?

And 9 out of 10 people don't need it. When did it become mandatory for a new bike to need a suspension revalve before even riding it? A local lad, graduated from an 85SX, bought a brand new YZ125, BEFORE he'd even ridden it, he sent the suspension off to be re-valved. I asked him why? He couldn't tell me.. He's not over/under 'normal' teenager weight for a YZ125. He's not particularly fast. He's not particularly slow. He's not riding woods, he's not doing freestyle, he's not doing beach racing or anything out of the normal conditions to what that bike was designed for. The suspension tuning industry in the UK has seriously got to people.

But you get such a cool sticker. If it makes you feel any better; Last time I picked up my stuff the tuner had an unused set off a works edition getting revalved and put on a snow bike.

I like a lot of Morgan's content, but he does have an attitude.

Can you guys help me understand why a franchise model was used for a suspension shop? Never understood this.

And why is a suspension company spending a bunch of money for a Vegas boondoggle with motivational speakers?

What the fuck am I missing about the suspension tuning business?

Most people don’t need most of the things they own/buy.

we’re past that in society. Most of what we buy is consumerism, vogue, or novelty. Realistically the only technology improvements cars have made in the last 30 years is they break down more and the radios are different.

I used to feel the same way, but my last two bikes were AWFUL out of the box, like unrideable.  2018 Husqvarna TC250 and 2022 Honda CRF450R.  Great suspension once valved/sprung right on both but wow.  I'm 180lbs or less so it isn't like I'm far off from the target audience.  I'm the guy that used to never get a bike revalved, just keep the fluids changed and go when the gate drops.

The saga continues for Travis...... interesting character.

Seems the TBT Racing franchises are not going so good,  my friend xxxxxx xxxxx signed up, paid $15K to buy a district and then $600 a month.   Today he sent me this.     My $600 a month I pay him goes to him providing unlimited valving setups and marketing/exposure on all TBT socials. In 13 months there have been 4 total posts for me, 4 more with a Baja 1000 bike I did but no mention of me. He still refuses to give me a copy of my signed contract, threatened to put a boot in my ass a couple weeks when I told him I was going to get my attorney involved if he didn’t provide it.

Sent him a breach of contract letter May 1st, rather than contact me or negotiate per the contract he removed all my access to emails, wiped my info from the website, removed me from all What’s App groups and told people I voluntarily left. Same with the new guy from Colorado.

Sent him a follow up yesterday explaining I am still an active franchise under contract and he has until 5 pm to reactivate all my stuff or until Wednesday to get me a check purchasing my franchise back. I don’t expect either to happen so here we are.
