Yes or a red kove, the plastic are ugly.
Oh did i offend you? Yes it looks better with Graphics but still not my taste. The road bikes they make are a different story tho.
I can't say I have bought one yet, but I do have a deposit on one of those ugly dirt bikes. The demo that I rode was fun.
It’s definitely not a show piece but it’s still cool. It has cagiva emblems on half the engine parts so you can really tell they were a ‘parts’ bike like the story goes.

Troy Lee can make any bike look great. A stock Ducati isn’t that sexy IMO.
Looks like a CRF bought on Aliexpress.
All Ducatis have a real personality. Except for this one, which is an ugly version of a Honda.
Aren’t Ducati 450s -just now- becoming avail?
A friend that’s one of those core Ducaphiles is getting his this week,

Yeah I can’t disagree with you about Troy. Fair point my guy.
Everybody loves to advertise their dogs
The troy Lee red bull version looks so much better than the stock version that it's almost hard to believe it's the same bike.
Question, how do you consider life after clicking 3rd or better ?
Cannondale?
Yeah & or if Honda used Chinese parts. Lol The Italian boss is probably destroying his office right now. They called my bike a Kove & a Chinese Honda. Haha In Jersey I pick up some food at 1 of those street corner dumps. I take a bite then insult there Phily cheese steak. They go nuts yelling , it’s funny as hell. Ducati is gonna see a lot of this coming this summer.
I'm just here to give a thumbs up to Profesh125s posts.
Ouch that hurts me even, but good one. Lol
@profeshenal125 If you’re ever on a 36 hour run hauling apples to Chicago and you roll through Bozeman hit me up!
I don't think "short" will work in that scenario... but I'm admittedly unschooled in that arena.
Pit Row
Had the priviledge of taking a Desmo for a spin during my last ride of the year. Local Ducati rep in Montreal got his hands on one and was generous enough to loan it to me for a moto.
First thing I noticed was how light the Ducati was and I felt it after I lifted it off the stand. The tank appears bulky but found my knees tucked in pretty far and the ride height made the bike feel tall, kind of like a Honda. Bottom end power was rather mellow but it pulls extremely hard in the mid-top end. The suspension was set for a rider much heavier than me yet the bike cornered exceptionally well.
Overall it felt like a mix between the austrian and the japanese bikes...almost like a lighter version of the Honda. I've raced Kawis since 65s and found a sweet spot on my current 24 450, but was blown away how compliant the Ducati behaved, even with suspension not set up for myself. I'm sure I'd find gripes about the handling or reliability if I owned one or pushed the bike through rough conditions, but that same argument applies to every brand. To conclude, man, this bike was special.
I poked around, did a few searches. Looks like mid summer 250 Desmoto may hit dealer floors. Sounds cool but after market stuff like extended shift levers etc may not be available first rattle out of the box.
So do I, bought new in '94, red, clip-ons, carbon flyscreen and front fender, carbon mufflers (standard position). The air-cooled 2-valve Ducatis are fun, torquey bikes! Also have a 998, 1098R, Hypermotard-S 1100, all with some little upgrades/carbon. In these weeks of 10° high temps, with a foot of snow on the ground, it's watching Supercross races and polishing bikes that keeps me sane. (Somewhat sane...) (And listening to great music like Werewolves of London, Woooo!)
I agree the torquey motors are so much fun on the road, when I’ve ridden mates sports bikes they were obviously way faster but lacked the character and fun factor going normal road speeds. I’m the 3rd owner, I did some construction work for the guy who owned it and ended up trading him the bill for the bike I loved the look so much.
Sometimes Ducati seems to try too hard on styling, especially with their special editions. If I get one, I'll put a black front fender on, black or carbon fork protectors, black out the front/lower part of the radiator covers (below the pointy front), black seat cover, minimal stickers (probably just a Ducati Corse emblem on the radiator covers). The bearing front motor mount on Barcia's bike sounds interesting. Is it designed to allow for vertical frame flex without lateral, side-to-side flex? Are any of the aftermarket billet guys trying this? A bit of suspension and ignition tuning, and it should be good-to-go. Ducati has been very good about addressing any problems with the bikes that I have. Way back in 2002 or so, US Ducati owners were surveyed regarding off-road bikes. The move to motocross/off-road was well researched, and likely has been well-planned and engineered over a 20+ year period. Hope they're successful, but it's always going to be a niche product for a target audience at a premium price.
If you want less red and more black you can go with the factory edition
Not to derail the thread but it's a bloody good thing you have some hockey tape on those levers so you can hang onto that beast.
I feel like this will be the big mover in the line:

Just as uninspired.
Doesn't look any better.
Saw one on Tuesday in ABQ (Love’s truck stop at the top of the hill on I-40)——-on a bumper rack on a Toyota Tacoma. They look better in the flesh.
Was it a fellow Vitard? I was the ZR2 who chased you down to get a better look. 😁
one look at your pastrana FMX bars is all it takes to know your spode.
