New year same coverage IMO!! Nothing like watching 10 -20th the entire race while Tomac and Kenny were ripping and staying fairly close to the checkers!!
Yep, file this in the Bondo complaint thread. I think the first time Prado was mentioned all race was with about 4 min 30 to go, by Diffey, which was immediately followed by RC saying "what a ride by Justin Cooper man" . They also seemed to focus on Sexton for well over 50% of the race. Going to be a looooonnnnnng season....
I believe there was nothing of 1 and 2 for over 10 minutes. And right when they went to Tomac, Webb crashed so they cut away again. Posers
I was watching the gap fluctuate between 1 to 3 seconds, and wanted to know if it was Tomac making mistakes and pulling back out, or was Roczen better in certain sections, but alas we never got to really see it.
90% of the race in was watching Prado. Literally the only thing that was of interest. Would he break? Anderson was catching him, then dropping back. Hunter made last lap effort.
10% in watched Tomac and Roczen. Rest of the field I don't remember anything from.
This is why watching SX live is a blast, you can crste your own storyline to follow.
Would have been fucking annoyed having to watch 10-20. Will watch it online later this week.

Well, it is Monster Energy AMA Supercross... 🙂
This is not true.. they did show Eli.. but when they did they minimized the screen and showed his interview.. I cannot for the life of me understand their logic in this. NEVER cut away from the life race especially with an interview..
I noticed that too. Diffey trying to give Prado some attention and RC just ignores it. That was strange but it is RC in the booth so maybe it isnt
Honestly to me this is what it felt like, paid/told who not to focus on
Yep, huge story lines for both Tomac and Prado on Saturday night. And we barely saw Kenny either.
When you keep an eye on the gaps and can hear the crowd but you’re watching riders back in the pack… it’s just always the same. SMH.
Announcers are great outside of Diffey and RC. Ricky would be better where JT is and JT in the booth but Bondo continues to suck it all up with the ADHD camera coverage that amounts to missing the actual race. If they would just slow down, and actually focus instead of trying to "paint a picture" it would be 100x better. All the complaints, suggestions in the world and it is simply rinse and repeat. Kind of mind boggling
SIMPLE EASY FIXES
-Graphics are old and stale updates are necessary that help explain the race. (look at F1 and base it off that)
-Timing.... not scoring and timing(that needs help as well). Timing of interviews, plugs, replays.... Use common sense here and stop trying to squeeze it in a specific slot of time
-Story lines...... we have 5 or 6 people talking about different riders before the gate drop to "build the hype". You had the entire show to talk about each individual and they use it up with idiotic skits. Then when the race is actually being ran, we miss all of the action.. I am told they have spotters...this is the largest problem we have. The camera crew misses literally the best racing because we are focused on the BS that doesn't matter. How is it that we hold race after race, and majority of the time we miss the real battle? This is as simple as simple gets.
-Cameras...... why do they continuously choose to place cameras in the direction that doesn't show difficulty of the track and what the racers are battling? Fix camera location that actually helps highlight the sport
Overall-I understand Bondo got a reward? Kind of says it all.... Simple smart changes go a long way and this production crew continues to show up and produce poorly ran production. Fans have complained over and over and they just smile and move on. Each time we have a media person question the guy it is the largest softball questions it isn't funny. It almost feels like a damn joke, Sub quality product at best
94 finished 1.5 seconds behind 3, pretty close times throughout..
The story was at the front. Nice job, Bondo....
Isn’t the producers job to keep the viewer’s attention span where the most action is?
I am not going to say the announcing is OK - it was not. But Diffy, Stew and Ricky don’t decide what is on the screen. They are looking at monitors and only announce to what is in front of them. Can they get better - yes but it is the director deciding what’s on the screen.
Hope it gets better - but history has told us………….?????
Worst part of the night. Living legend wringing out a new bike with another living legend trailing him as they decimate the field - but hey at least I got to see the guys struggling in 7th place.
How many races have we had a 2-3 second lead that moves back and forth. The classic chess match that is racing and of course we start bouncing around to guys further back who aren't battling. I wish we could get someone that actually understands racing, that guy has been at the helm for how many years and STILL SUCKS BALLS
Hire me for the TV director's job. We need someone with racing experience to know where to look. Remember when the camera stays static on a section and shows the leader coming through and then stays on that section for the viewer to actually see what a 26 second gap is to 3rd place? ESPN always did it..
Pit Row
These two guys are such masters of their craft. Over a decade into their careers, "should've" been retired already, and they're out here banging out consistently great laps at A1, 20 sec ahead of the rest of the pack.
To a degree yes, but this was egregious. It's A1 not 14 rounds in, this is the first time we've seen ET and Prado on the KTM, there's a lot to see with how their bikes are working. Then the story of ET and Kenny still at the front in 2026. It was like they weren't even racing...
Credit to this dude getting more coverage of of the front guys than the main broadcast! That's a banger view!
That was cool how they did that. They would show a long shot at the end of the whoop section and start a timer when the leader hit the first whoop. Camera would stay in place and watch the entire pack until the leader came around and gave a lap time. Good ole days
Kenny was faster on every other part of the track besides the back rhythm in front of the podium.
I agree, broadcast should have had more split screen coverage.
And going by the lap times, the decider was lap 1.
Post a reply to: Literally zero coverage of the leaders the entire race!!
