I use the HP tools 0-60psi gauge but they also have a 0-15psi model that may be perfect for moto use.

Motion pro has a really good digital gauge. That paired with their warranty/customer service is hard to beat

I just use my thumbs...anything more than that is over thinking it...lol

Edit...I use bib's...haven't checked tire pressure in years...

Small Farm Project

An excellent Youtube channel where he tests everything imaginable. Best laundry soap, ratchet, knife sharpener, battery, tire pressure gauge, you name it.

Ryobi cordless compressor. It has a digital gauge. Hook it on, blip the trigger and gives you a digital read out of your pressure then trigger it up to what you want. Best tool I have is far as moto goes. Battery last forever. It will inflate car tires but it takes awhile. Wouldn't recommend it for that as it gets really hot and will burn up the bearings. It's perfect for moto tires though. I have a Ryobi drill so they share the same battery. $99 for just the body. Another $48 for a battery and charger on Amazon. Expensive but worth every penny. Makes checking tire pressures and inflating in less than one minute. No more hand pump and separate gauge.

I’m still using my bell bicycle pump from Walmart for about 20 years now. 😂 I was curious and compared it’s accuracy to my friend’s fancy gauges and the same numbers appear.

That’s full scale accuracy. Scale is 0 to 20,000psig.

So in terms of psig, the accuracy is .0002 x 20,000 = +/- 4 psig.
So if you’re running 13psig in your tires, you’re looking at a +/- 4/13 = +/- 30.8% accuracy.

Less than ideal.

Something like a Rosemount 3051T would be one of the most accurate. You can get it turned down to 0 - 15 psig with a .04% span accuracy.
This is, of course, completely overkill for a dirt bike.

I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of even some of the cheapest digital ones tested by Small Farm Project. I can only assume part of the firmware installation involves saving calibration data.

Doesn’t matter that much as long as you use the same one all the time. My 12.5  be the same as your 14 but as long as the gauge psi doesn’t change and you find a setting on your gauge you like you’re good to go. Obviously you want it to be close to accurate but consistent is much more important.

I have to vouch for the Motion Pro digital, both out of respect and performance.  Respect because I won it on the 12 days of Christmas a few years ago and they support the sport and Vital.  Performance because it is awesome and is now my benchmark for everything. I was happy to win it because my Dad who is getting older can use it easily.  Also it was pricey and never in a million years would I have imagined paying that much for one.  They are like $89 or so.  But after having one, I would buy 2.  I use it on my SxS, car and truck tires and of course my bikes. Honestly, with correct tire pressure, everything seems to handle better.  I have been convinced that it is truly a performance part.

Example: I had the tires changed on my F150 this past Saturday.  I got home from the tire shop and checked my tire pressures because I wanted 40 in each.  They were all around 40 lb but the difference between the highest psi and the least psi was 3.8lb.

seems like we have a couple instro’s in here seeing that a dead weight tester has been posted and Rosemount 3051’s have been mentioned   I would think that only the factories would be the only ones that would get remotely close to being that serious about their pressure gauge

Imagine paying $23k for gauge that gives you 4psig variance at the pressures you run on a dirt bike tire.
I think I have a 50 year old pen gauge better than that.

I remember an old dirt track guy told me once "just always use the same gauge, adjust from there."

I've been quite happy with this one.  I've used it for a dozen years.

It's still a good idea to always use the same gauge, and one that is consistent.  It seems whether analog or digital, they all vary a bit.  It's hard to know which one is actually the most accurate.

Anything used in dragracing…

They also have different ranges, 0-40 PSI and so on.

It doesn't matter... I always manage to lose about  half a psi just putting the gauge on and off 😬

I have several. They all read different. Which one is correct though?

My favourite is this. Came with my new YZ125D in 1977. I think I trust this one the most, actually.

At the drag strip where .5-1.0 psi is considered important, Longacre is the most popular.

Thanks for the insight, hopefully they let me return this unit.
I was a little skeptical about it being named Fluke.
