Thats awesome! Very impressive. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you now when you lost all the weight? You're going to have to change your username along with spring weights!

That's great! I still have hope then! I'm 37, and in the last couple years, the weight only seems to add and never subtract. That is really on me though and just being lazy about it. Thanks for the kick in the ass!

You can do it brother!

Anything you want to know about yoga is on YouTube for free.

We had a yoga class at work in the fitness center. Was worth every second. We need to beable to bounce off the ground and get back up. Yoga is legit for us vets

We started doing CrossFit style workouts in my shop, nothing crazy heavy on weight, but lots of reps and high intensity stuff. Last night we added these yoga style stretches to the end of our routine and I can tell you that it is already showing its benefits in reducing my back pain.

Pasta should not be eaten at night IMO. Rice is great, cook it yourself. Bread is another daytime food for me but a staple. I love bread. Either make it or buy Dave's green bag (oil free). Cereal - another staple of mine. Simple cereals like plain Cheerios, rice crispies, shredded wheat are oil and sugar free. I eat TONS of rice crispies with vanilla whey and honey. Best workout fuel there is eaten about 1.5 hours ahead of time.

There are also plenty of ice creams with no oil - I abuse the Bryers natural daily also😂😂😂

Sorry to hear that, my wife is going through that right now, it started about 6 months ago. She's lost 45 lbs and her appetite is next to nill. Been to the ER twice, last time she was there 2 nights getting fluids pumped in and tests galore. Waiting for biopsy reports. Meanwhile been experimenting with different diets and ways to get her energy level back up. Good luck to you.

has she gotten pelvic floor testing done? plus here's a video on vagus nerve damage being a cause

I guess I need to add myself to the list…

205.8 yesterday morning. I was my biggest at 325ish after my freshman year of college. I’ve yo-yo’ed around some but was finally down to 160 about 3 years ago.

Injuries & time away from the gym & I’ve let myself creep up 45 pounds again. Yikes. No WONDER my sag is off…

Count me in!

I just hit the scales this morning, 212.7.  Which is 7.8 pounds since Monday.  I got there with low carb, low calorie, fasting and the gym.  Most of what I lost was water weight if I had to guess.  I’ve fasted more than I should.  I got real light headed at the gym yesterday working out with my trainer.  Had to sit down, drink some water, chew a couple of salt lick electrolyte tabs before I drove home.   Once I came home, ate I was fine after a couple of hours and a nap.  I’m going to be a little smarter going forward.  I won’t fast for 21 hours drink a protein drink, hit the gym after not eating much last few days to start with again lol.  Sometimes I can be way far beyond stubborn/hardheaded.

I’m determined to get in real shape.  If I could get down to racing weight, in the low 190’s.  I might go race with the old guys someday!

Alright you lightweights, 68 years old, 266 lbs. I just went to Glen Helen yesterday. I rode about 30 minutes total and was spent.

I graduated from my fire academy in 1981 at 190 lbs, about 6'1. I looked skinny back then. I really believe I have real good bone density. I only ever broke one bone riding or racing. I was as high as 290 but have slowly dropped, like over 4 years. I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic and am on metformin and just started mounjaro (GLP-1) 10 days ago. . I'll take full accountability for my T2 diabetes. I love food, donuts, big sandwiches sweets and so on. I have some decent (?) ortho issues that keep me from going ham with weights so I'll be going high rep weights but will work more on cardio. A personal trainer I know based her program around her belief that "you can't outrun a bad diet" so that has been my approach since Thanksgiving.

You can put me in the PED or cheater bike class but I'm in. Do we check in weekly to keep track?. Lets go with body weight percentage lost.

I'll be back in a week.

I say every week or so, or loose enough ya want to talk about  post it so you can keep track of it.  Then after the first of the year, say end of February maybe.  We post up what we lost.  For now the prize is bragging rights.  Be cool if we could come up with a prize for the winner.

I hope everybody keeps posting progress and what they are doing to loose and get in better shape.  I’ve already learned a few diet and exercise ides some of the guys posted.  I was amazed at what I found on YouTube when I searched yoga for motocross lol.

I’m sure the guys that have previously drop weight would like to share how much they lost and how they got there.  Loosing 50-60 pounds is not an easy task and worth talking about as some of the guys have.

I intend on winning lol!  Already been posting my progress this week.

They did an endoscopy and looked around, found inflammation on the esophagus and stomach, took a sample from her stomach lining to get tested, haven't heard any results yet. The link didn't work but I'll google it. No appetite = no food = no energy, as you know. Thanks for the reply

I'm following...as I sit here in a food coma from my work holiday outing this afternoon atthe famous Salt Lick BBQ.
Next up I have a family vacation in Hawaii for the holidays, but after that, I am all in about dropping some lbs.

Losing weight is very simple; eat very little, what you do eat it must be clean, and lots of hard cardio.  It really isn’t any more complicated than that.

Ideally, hard cardio on an empty stomach is excellent.  Give your body a chance to enter autophagy.

Last jan 4 i was 250. By Daytona the first weekend in March i hit 200.. usually by August id fall back in to cheeseburgers and beer. Ive hovered 192 all year so I'm way ahead on my Daytona prep schedule. I've done carnivore since jan 4th. Love it. Admittedly over the last month or two ive been 90% carnivore, 8% tacos, and 2% peanuts. Lol.

Guilty also, I hit a high of 135kg (300lbs), due to bad habits and trashed knee / shoulder.

This year with the help of Wegovy GLP1, I was able to lose 30kg (66 lbs). Earlier this year I had the shoulder replaced, the knee will be replaced this coming January.

After this recovery I'm looking forward to finally being able to exercise, and lose another 15kg. Dreaming of getting back on a bike at 65 years old.

I'm in.  I'm 63 and 5'7".  I'm bringing my weight down to 150, then keeping it there for the next 57 years.

I was 172.  I feel like crap when I'm in the 170s.  I just lost 7 lbs in a month due to stress, so I'm at 165 now.

15 more pounds to go.

I actually feel great at around 143-145, but I'm simply too thin.  So I'll stick to 150.

I agree that it's very difficult to overcome a bad diet with exercise, especially cardio.

My plan is to eat mostly protein, with some carbs, just not going overboard.

Then do intense cardio 2x week, and weights 3x.  This is all extra. Weight loss is really about diet.

I've read for many years, that every pound of muscle you add burns an extra 50 cals/day.

If you really want to lose weight, eat just enough at a time to not feel hungry, and take good vitamins.

I expect to hit this goal before I turn 64 in April.

I don't want to just hit my weight goal.  I want to also be in killer shape, and ready to race.

I have been in bodybuilding, marathon, cycling, and general fitness and prep my whole life. I’ve coached a few dozen people and worked with tons of training partners. The simplest and easiest thing you can do is just intermittent fasting. Stop eating so much! Period. Do IF from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and then once you’re in rhythm reduce from 12:00-6:00. This is the simplest and most foolproof thing to do in my findings.

Restriction diets (keto, carnivore, morning gym) and novel methods almost always shock the person and they don’t find any sustainability in it. Start here and add on as your life allows. The goal is not only weight loss and health but the continuation of it.

Also, weight loss drugs are gay - go earn it like a man and you won’t ever be in this position again. Weight loss is 99% mental 1% physical. When you understand this, you’ll succeed.

Edit: I don’t drink so I forgot about it but if you won’t give up alcohol and vices then you’re basically choosing to line up to the gate with a rag in your airbox. Good luck.

Fasting is awesome!

However, if you're first starting out you should try intermittent first, which is basically cutting out one meal a day.

If you can get down to one meal a day, at least until you hit your target weight that will decrease the time it takes.

The carnivore diet was the key for me, because I could eat until I was full and had no hunger issues for up to 20 hrs.     Now that I'm at my target weight, monitor it every day, if I dip a few pounds below it, I'll eat a cheat meal or get some ice cream...ect.

To be successful, especially if you need to loose a lot of weight you need to set yourself up for success....here's some tips.

1. Clean out your fridge and cupboards of all junk, garbage, high carb foods and drinks.

1. Unless you have super willpower you need to get the family on board.

3. Get together a sustainable plan, one that's easy, easy to follow and maintain.

4. Your weigh loss plan and work out program...if you have one.... Should start out easy, taking small steps.            Most fail because they set unrealistic goals for themselves expecting to loose weight overnight.

Give yourself 6 months to a year to get to your target weight, everyone's metabolism is different and so some it takes longer.

5. Don't give up, if you blow your program by eating a bag of Doritos...don't quit....just put it behind you and restart.

Everyone has weak periods, I once sat down and ate almost a whole blueberry pie😁 but I continued on!

If you have a major sweet tooth that is super hard to ignore, shop at a health food store for your emergency junk food habit, at least there you can get low to zero sugar junk foods....just read the back panels not everything in there is good for weight loss.

6. Remember for weigh loss, carbs, sugars, even fruit sugars...and processed foods are the enemy.

My dessert/protein hack. I take a Oinkos protein yogurt cup (90cal, 15g protein, 0 fat), mix in a scoop of isopure vanilla (25g protein) and 1/2cup frozen blueberries (10g carb). I’ll often drop a scoop of creatine into the mix. If I’m feeling sassy, I’ll hit it with some whipped cream. Mix the yogurt and protein before mixing in the blueberries. The frozen fruit basically freezes it into a pseudo ice cream. I could live off this stuff. And I’ve lost a lot of weight while eating this multiple times a day so it’s legit. I’ll add honey to it as well if I’m looking for pre/post workout carbs.

I weighed this morning after drinking two big cups of coffee.  Between coffee and a 16 oz steak and grilled squash Friday night I was up a pound lol.  Still 5 pounds this week.  I did another 20 hr fast today but ate about 1500 calories this afternoon and tonight after my fast.  I was so hungry I could have ate a skunk.   I probably won’t weigh tomorrow.  Maybe Wednesday after a couple of gym days and another fast.  I’m hurting myself drinking Zero Dr. Peppers, artificial sweeteners can trigger insulin and hinder weight loss.

Guess it’s to the gym tomorrow instead of the track.  Was going to the track tomorrow but dropped/lost a needle bearing for new Ride Engineering rear link for my KX.  It’s too cold anyway, 34 ish and wind in the morning…….that’s cold for Houston.  I’ve been down south too long, can’t take the cold like I could back in Oklahoma.

221lbs (100kg).
6'2" (188cm)
51yrs old
Target would be 190lbs (86kg) but I'd even be happy with 200lbs (91kg)

I've always struggled to make any progress. Got down to about 205lbs a few years ago but gained it back since. Maybe this thread will help.
