This is the best case scenario....let's hope that Deegs can be honest with himself and if he can't ride at 100% he will step aside and let Cooper go.

Nah, Deegs Train knows he shat the PR bed last Saturday

He’s not giving up that spot.

I’ll wager there’ll be pics/post catching him ‘grimacing from the pain’ and ‘how much he wants it’ incoming.

No doubt it’ll be a tough weekend for him, crappy that The Brand put him there.

I think it would be amazing if Deegan has surgery and then goes and represents America for zero pay. Seems like I’m the only one with this opinion but he’s a 19 year old kid. You guys don’t remember the dumb shit you did at 19? You guys just road your dirt bikes and didn’t do anything retarded or dangerous? Amazing

JCoop is such a good dude.  And a far better choice than an injured Deegan.

But, I'm Team USA and will be wearing my Rick shirt Saturday and my Tomac shirt on Sunday!!

RJ was asked to be the backup at Unadilla which is probably part of the reason he got the first pick over JCoop

Are you letting facts get in the way of a good story?

I didn't think it was possible for Deegan to sink lower on my list but he has. As has Yamaha. They're now on the "no way in hell will I ever buy one" list,  along with Kawasaki.

One things for sure. When it comes to picking a team in the next few years,  J Coop' s sacrifice will be completely ignored by the morons who put the team together. Oh, and my planned contribution. Forever canceled. Assholes...

Someone might want to let him know to keep his mouth shut at the hotel and in the pits etc. One off race and a lot of grown men on the track who have way more pride than they do an actual shot at winning the race. Would be very on brand for him to talk his way into getting taken out though.

I don't think anyone gets paid to race the Nations.  It's just for bragging rights and for the fans which is what makes it pretty special.

Fellas,  from where I sit I don't think there's anything Deegs or his camp can do that will cost them any bandwagon fans or more importantly, money.

Their approach is making them bank and they're good at it.  Asking them to change makes no sense to them and makes us sound stupid.

And that's ok...plenty of other riders to support.   I do hope he just rides his ass off at the Nations and doesn't embarrass Eli or RJ.

I hope Deegs does well! And, I hope he can see JCoop’s attitude and learn something.

Deegan is now doing damage control. I think he wants to be a hero and all will be forgiven if he helps pull off an American victory. What is the cut off point for JCoop to race? Say he wreck in practice the morning of raceday, is JCoop still up for it or is it too late?

Something else I wondered was who would Roger have picked? Would he have just told Deegs no, not risking it, we're going with JCoop?

How much of the stupid shit you did at 19 was broadcast on live television, and/or on a YouTube channel with millions of followers?

I believe as soon as a rider is on track that's it, he can't be replaced. So if Deegan rides practice, doesn't feel 100% and pulls out, JCoop can't do anything but watch.

None of the guys are being paid to race MXON.

Nah, just like no one watched Jimmy Kimmel before last week.

Major props to Jcoop for being flexible but man has the AMA done him bad by allowing an injured DBoy to take priority.

I think it's more allowing Hampshire to take priority.  If Deegan is good to go, he's the fastest 250 rider we have.  He needs to go.

Since JCoop finished higher than RJ in the Championship, you'd think that would be the tie breaker between the two.

It would be good to hear the AMA's logic for choosing Hampshire.  It may be that RJ found additional pace toward the end of the season, or that by selecting Hampshire for Open, it allows JCoop to focus on being ready for 250, instead of trying to be ready for both.

Either way, JCoop's willingness to go is much, much appreciated!
