Steve makes friends everywhere he goes, it seems. He’s got to be loosing viewers. Guess selling out makes up for it.

I'm just thinking of the visual of Tomac on a dozer being annoyed enough by Steve to stop, pick up his phone, think up that condescending and funny line and tweet it out.

I actually rewatched this race last night to see if it was comparable to Lil Deegz.

Tomac did bump him twice. But both times Dung just didn't know how to defend. Like the outcome was bigger than the move. So I don't think it is comparable. The little bumps Tomac did, if made on Shimoda we won't be talking about it. But I am not sure why Dung was effected so much.

The first one early he ended up having to reverse down the berm. But he didn't need to turn right like that...

I am not sure you can't compare the two.

I read Deegans statement and like the race it made no sense. Tomac was trying to effect one guy. Deegan seemed to only want Jo not to win it. No problem with Seth winning it. But than all the goon riding into kitch and seth. Obviously the rest with shimoda. Its been days and a couple rewatchs later. I still have no idea what Deegan's goal was.

Steve Matthes eats Snickers upside down so he can feel the veiny part on his tongue

Degan tweeted it for him

JS7 was damn near a recluse for years post racing. He just vanished. But then JS7 resurfaced and has been very involved in things and very public, clearly enjoying himself. Sometimes I wonder if ET3 does the same - vanishes to the ranch w/ the fam for a few years and then he comes back and is involved in the sport somehow. Just a random thought.....

Eli has carried himself with class for his entire career.  I don't like what he did in Vegas that night,  but he gets a pass from me based on his body of work and his professionalism.

Doucheboy, on the other hand, has never earned anyone's respect as a person. Big difference.

Sorry if I'm missing it here, but is the Eli and Mathes beef an inside joke between the two of them? I thought they were buddies? It has been a while since I listened to Pulp but Eli used to be on the show and they seemed cool with each other.

I think Eli might be slightly irritated by something Matthes said a couple weeks ago.  But I think he's mostly just busting his balls.

Eli was on the Re-Raceables podcast a few months ago.  I can't imagine he's changed his opinion about Matthes that much in a short amount of time.

Just skip to the 450 main event. It is not even comparable in my eyes. This is what I expected Deegs to do, not what happened Saturday night.

I went back and watched this too the other day and the funniest thing was that the announcers didn't pick up on what Eli was doing (or they noticed and decided not to say it out loud). They were slobbering Dungey's knob about how he was charging back to pass Eli, but Eli was clearly slowing in all the places where he knew Dungey couldn't really pass him. He let Dungey go around him a couple times and passed him back and the announcers still didn't call it out. I watched this live and I remember yelling at the screen for them to say something.

I think James disappeared for reasons that the moto community is not and will not be ready to hear about for a long time.

Haha yeah I noticed that too. I will say he did at least attempt to make it look real. It was still pretty obvious, but nothing like Deegs on Saturday.

Hard to tell if the context of this is playful but it seems not.  I know folks love Eli and I’ve become a fan but I did not like when he tried to stand dungey up.  He had all season to beat the dude heads up and didn’t have the points lead.  Heads up racing is better and classier for all of us.

Deegan got taken out by kitchen and made Jo his punching bag for it.

Both are classless moves but the Deegan one was 10/10 wack and Eli was 6/10 wack.  Doesn’t mean either were respectable.  Oddly enough in both situations you have 2 of the nicest guys ever in our sport on the receiving end.

I could be confusing years, but wasn’t that the year that Eli got absolutely T-Boned by Marvin, as well as Marvin pulling over for Dungey to pass and gain more points…?

Two different years.  Marv pulled over in 2017, cleaned Eli's clock in 2018 at Foxboro

You never had 2 million dollars within your reach in 1 shot.

Im ok with everything haiden did up until he kept trying to hit him. For the "championship" and the money and contract bonus money i would have been behind jo, outside of jo, inside jo keeping the pressure on. Keeping him on his toes but dude crossed the line multiple times.

That was such a great race (both 250’s and 450’s that night. It was like a battle of the energy drinks back then.

Pulps ReRaceables is a great pod. Usually just Steve, Weege and Seth Rarick. ET was on this year about his Hangtown massacre. For anyone tired of the 99 moto YouTube channels churning the same current stuff. The Steve Matthes show Classics. And Classics commentary are worth a look. All on apple pods. Regardless if yiu like Steve today or not. There is some great content he has done back to the beginning. Riders and teams. As an aside. Not just pulp but quite a few of the channels been saying ET is a non factor all year. Won’t see the podium. Maybe. Everyone is locked into the Jet train. Many riders younger in the class than ET and they aren’t finishing ahead. Us fans are lucky he is still out there. Now add in the MXON. Almost won last year with a last month effort. Now look at this year. He is stepping up again. Hoping his suspension is dialed in…. and the dirt is tilled deep. See if RJ and JCoop with ET can win it!!!!
