Would Monster be sponsoring the entire team? If they dropped the personal sponsorships of guys like Jo, Ferrandis and Gasjer, I really don’t see them keeping 12th place Prado.

If that were to happen, Prado would be the least of their worries.  The KTM group is not exactly flush with cash at the moment, and losing their title sponsor could be devastating to the racing efforts.

Hoping this is not true.  Could be detrimental to that team but also our sport

I hope that applies to MotoGP only. There was no mention of the off road teams.

Probably because the MotoGP effort consumes the vast majority of the funds.  12-15 million euros would be tough for KTM to replace.

If Red Bull leave KTM, they won't be getting put with anyone. They'll be done with racing at World level.

And him getting destroyed on the KTM will prove what we already know!

Sexton's jump to green looks like a good move with this latest news. Have the KTM execs, board members and former ceo's questionable business decisions led to the number one sponsor to move on?

There's plenty in that article to suggest this isn't just a motogp thing. The article also talks about them sponsoring Honda instead and also of other uncertainty when it comes to KTM racing future. Can't imagine red bull is going to sponsor different factory teams across different sports but who knows. Jett Lawrence on a red bull Honda makes plenty of sense....

I would bet Jett is a big part of the equation.  I can’t imagine Red Bull is especially eager to sever ties with a long time partner just to switch to a back-of-the-grid MotoGP team.

Just checked in with my main Red Bull contact, who's pretty high up the foodchain, and they stated that the US program has a contract running through 2026. They also stated that the US Supercross / Pro Motocross contracts have nothing to do with the MotoGP program. Sounds like they have no reason to change stateside.

Business 101.  If a company has poor management and runs it into bankruptcy, it makes sense that sponsors would leave it and move on to a stronger company.  Especially if the sponsor is not impressed with the new management coming in.

With Red Bull making cuts to their other programs, one has to wonder what they’re contributions will be…what their budget allowances will be in 2027 and beyond for U.S. moto?

Are we sure ktm isn’t bailing on MotoGP and the Red Bull rumor is just running ahead of the impending ktm exiting motogp rumor/news?

It's not unreasonable to think KTM is choosing to leave MotoGP as part of their restructuring. This would free up Red Bull to support Honda, who lost their long time sponsor Repsol a year or so ago.

From Google

KTM's current contract with MotoGP promoter Dorna Sports for MotoGP participation runs until the end of 2026. However, KTM's CEO has stated that their continued participation beyond that year is contingent on securing additional funding, according to Yahoo Sports. The current contract and rider contracts with riders like Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta also end in 2026, according to Motorsport.com

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

.

KTM's contract with Dorna for MotoGP participation currently extends to the end of the 2026 season.

.

The company's future in MotoGP beyond 2026 is dependent on securing additional funding and investors.

.

KTM has riders like Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta contracted through the end of 2026, further highlighting the end of the current cycle.

.

KTM's CEO has mentioned that continued participation depends on affordability, indicating potential financial challenges.

.

Dorna is reportedly negotiating with KTM for a renewal of the agreement, potentially for the period of 2027-2031.

.

Liberty Media's acquisition of Dorna, expected to close at the end of the year, may also influence future agreements says SportsPro,.

This would be bad news.

Our sport needs RedBull and needs KTM back running strong from a business standpoint.

Yeah basically they stated to ML that all is OK through the contract which again, is only through next year.  Hopefully they stick around and keep the same budget on the next contract.

It would be interesting if he could share the multiplier difference for their Moto GP investment versus the total of their SMX investments.

How would ya'll feel about our sport bringing on luxury and tech sponsors like in F1? (Rolex, Visa, LV, Richard Mille, AWS, Google, Oracle, etc)

We are waaay too redneck to attract those sponsors.  Energy drinks and Only Fans are more in our wheelhouse.

I don’t really care what the string of letters printed on the banners/tuff blox/graphics are. The more money for the racers the better. I don’t think our sport has nearly enough eyeballs or status to attract that type of sponsor, though.

Serious question why isn’t Zyn and Copenhagen sponsoring teams? I’m surprised we don’t have a bud light sponsor

Because all the fans already have either a Zyn pouch (or 3) or Cope in their lips lol. No need to go after an audience that already buys the product like food.
