Exactly! It’s just my opinion, but something that’s been bothering me with Lewis’ questions in post race interviews. I’ve started turning him off when he does his now-usual long-winded analysis with barely a question somewhere, which is unfortunate because he is / can be one of the best writers out there. It’s just my opinion, but I can appreciate your take as well.

For the one-millionth time GL was not fired, and was not required to take the jab. He could have finished out the last couple of races remotely but instead chose to quit two races early and grandstand about it on social media.
Listening to Ping and GL’s pod to hear the full-scope of their bitching, and this part regarding moto media was particularly funny to me (45 minutes in):

Most of the behavior in this entire saga is pretty indefensible. While not a huge fan of Gypsy Tales, I did find his quip about being at the Post Race Press Conference hilarious given all the shots Matthes has taken at him over not being at all the races though.

People leave Canada because our industry is too small and career opportunities are virtually non-existant here, not because it's a shithole. Be as it may, Canada has a killer track scene in certain parts of the country, comparable or arguably better than certain parts of the US. Youtube search the Canadian national track from this past weekend, 'Deschambault Motocross', and I gaurantee you will at least appreciate it as a standalone track.
Matthes wanted to chase a dream and Canada wasn't in his endgame. Dude took a leap of faith and things worked out great for him in the US. Finanically successful, married to a loving wife, respected by countless top riders and an iconic figure in the moto industry. Even Jase/Gypsy was on record in one of his pods praising Matthes and elaborated that if he were to ever leave the sport, there would be a massive media hole to fill. Is it asking too much to take a handful of his comments or opinions with a grain of salt?
Notice how no-one talks about missing GL on the broadcast after James started doing it?
Notice how some people complain for years about journalism in the sport and then Big Lew shows up and just does a better job?
