Some of yall don’t know how alternates are selected and it shows. I only ask that if you don’t know something don’t speak as if you do. If you think Tate will be selected as an alternate because of his last name go do some research on how they select alternates. I get so tired of the constant negativity and “hating” by people in this sport. The kids out there racing his bike and living his dream.
Yes, as stated earlier, he's apparently trying in the Northeast region as well which has the regional at Unadilla this weekend. So, he's still got one more chance before he goes the alternate route.

250B Stock is his best shot, the Mod class is a little more stacked. There is 2 divisions of 250B Stock and Mod at Unadilla. Gonna be tough, hope he can pull it out.

They kinda made it tougher on themselves by using that alternate slot on minis last year. Because now he can't do any of the C classes and has to jump straight to B.

Tate tried to qualify at Ironman for the mid-east region also. He will only get in as an alternate based on power rankings. Something that the people saying he will get in because of his name know nothing about.
Here’s me staging next to Shorty for moto 3 at Millville after finishing P2 to him in moto 2. Only 5 seconds a lap slower. 😂 I think one lap was 1.5 seconds. He must have had a bad lap. It’s cool on one hand to race against the absolute top guys, but I’d probably feel differently if I didn’t qualify because of one of them. The thing is, they have nowhere else to race. Just like growing up… if you want to qualify for LL, you have to race against the best.

I would argue in the later part of his career Reed was much more about trying to still get the adulation than about the racing. He'd show up fat and out of shape and put in fuck all effort. He just couldn't step away from the limelight. Then as soon as he does stop racing he starts his whole YouTube channel thing.
The guy has accomplished just about everything at the top level of the sport, I don’t think he’s really concerned a whole lot about himself racing Loretta’s. I think it’s more so about Tate and trying to help him. He’s able to ride the same track and give advice. The amateur tracks shape up totally different from the pros. Andrew Short said it last year how he was caught off guard how gnarly it was. I think Chad is trying to get that understanding himself to help his son.
He’s racing the Unadilla Regional this weekend.

I wonder how many guys posting in this thread, complaining about pros in the vet classes, are even fast enough to qualify for the ranch, much less be competitive for a title? As best as I can tell, you don’t hear much out of the guys who are actually fast enough for it to matter.
