Was shocked when I read that.

Figured he was a partner in Seven
Fish on!
I bet this is more about him wanting to launch a fishing brand than anything to do with not wanting to be involved with SevenMX. The resources must have been there with FXR.
This is shocking! Big bro doesn’t want to pony up? Maybe it is true that he doesn’t want to pay his employees!
Well now he should blend right in at Triumph next year! Looks good.
Is he retiring this year or next year?

I’m just guessing here…but…it’s a gnarly world in the gear biz and I’m thinking Seven might not have the money to compete with the SnoSled-come-Moto beast that is FXR.
Again, that’s just a guess.
Yeah I was going to start the same topic. How th does James NOT try to expand the brand with his brother? Fishing is bigger than motocross...And I'd argue a good majority of riders like to relax and go fishing in their non-moto down time.
Mookie looks great in the FXR gear, and I think his Parallel 27 launch is a great move for him as well. I also feel as if he sees this as a direct tie to both of his "first loves": fishing & racing, and not some kind of disconnect with his brother's Seven brand.
This was a great addition to our program! I can't wait to see how the 27 Parallel stuff turns out
That's pretty cool Malcolm will have his own line of fishing clothes. What an opportunity.

Going to Triumph
Time for Seven to open up the pocketbooks for once and get a top rider besides mookie
He is a fisherman and looks liked he made this happen to take FXR to the fishing scene. Its very smart actually. James in Seven and now Mookie is FXR (27) for fishing stuff.
Two revenue streams. Thats better than one right?
A strong distribution network takes years to build (or a ton of money). Product development with real quality is not cheap either, and the market knowledge regarding what the customers exactly want and pay for is key to reduce the risks. I think it is a very good move for Malcom, but also Seven, who focuses its resources on its core business ; expanding on tough new markets can be risky, ie ktm.
I think it is an evergreen agreement that will make Mookie sticks longer to help promoting FXR and his brand, good news !
Not exactly.
Getting paid is more of the motive here.
Super smart move business wise. I remember an interview where he was vested in Seven but don't know the details. This way he makes gear money from FXR maybe 3-5 years plus his Seven investment money, then the money from the fishing side. Going to retire with a good chunk of change or as he say's enough gas money to go fishing. lol.
Pit Row
I would imagine that when this deal was materializing, James was totally understanding. That family seems pretty tight and supportive of one another.
Could James maybe get AP away from Thor? 7 needs a big name guy and AP seems like the obvious choice now...
Is James still tied into the Seven brand, or was it sold off? I always thought the stuff looked tight and uncomfortable, but I'm just going off looks because I haven't owned any.
Well this definitely doesn't slow down the Mookie to Triumph rumors any...
FWIW, FXR has had a "Pro Fish" line for years now:
Pro Fish Gear by FXR | Gear Up for the Catch – FXR Racing USA
Yeah I imagine that FXR was able to pay much more than Seven, I would say Seven sells a fraction of the gear that FXR does. I dont really see anyone wear Seven gear and I see a ton of guys wearing FXR.
Up here in Canada, FXR is huge in snowmobiles and Moto. Good on Malcolm.
wow, if he can get his line in at Bass Pro Shop = $$$$$$
Remember when fxr just started to bleed over into moto? Holy shit you couldn’t pay me to wear that. Now they are this huge powerhouse company everyone wants in on. Almost like fly did.
They are in business - even without any more info than this thread -- it's a good business move -
Just imagine in 30 years from now when names are mentioned as the greatest ever fishermen/media entertainers...Roland Martin, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston.....Malcolm Stewart ☺️
...do any of you see riders at the track or race event wearing Seven lately?
I see a couple guys wearing it here and there, but not as much as I used to.
Ive never seen Seven gear for sale on the rack at a dirt bike shop around here, and their HQ is here in my town...
Post a reply to: Malcolm out of Seven and in FXR.
