The only way Cooper Webb is getting an outdoor 450 title is if Jett, Tomac, Sexton, Prado, Hunter, JCoop, Ferrandis, AP and Anderson don't show up.
Meanwhile his best 450 results were outdoors, on the Star racing after claiming his championship. He was riding really well that outdoor season
Yeah he sure does. Would have been unreal as Mr Burns’ lichenspittle smithers.
I hope he is all good, I know he was sick in denver but chase directly hit his boot with his fork pretty hard so im hoping part of his fading has nothing to do with his leg

Without them it's a lame show.
I expect a practice injury before the nationals even start, race a few rounds to stay in the top 20 for SMX. Come back for SMX…
Well, using Webbs own words from a couple of years back: He gets paid to race so he race.
that’s why he should race for any position on the gate.
It is shocking to me how many telepaths there are in VitalMX. It is also shocking to me that they expend their remarkable skills on finding out what motorcycle racers are thinking of rather than movers and shakers on Wall Street.
Webb is a racer, if he can race he’ll race
It was mentioned on Pulp that Webb wants the SMX title so it makes sense that he would race as many Nationals as possible to head into SMX with a points lead or at least in the top 2.
The press release was vague but media asked him again to confirm after he raced a couple of rounds with lack luster results and Craig confirmed he is SX only. Was mentioned on the VitalMx review pod a couple weeks back, can’t remember which round.
Not really…. Webb has multiple SX titles already. He has just 1 450 overall MX win in his entire career.
Apples and oranges.
Well you know....that's just like your opinion man....
He won his 250 MX title coming into the season with a wrist injury. He wants the SMX title too im sure and the pay day that comes with it. He will race MX.
Webb is already in SMX from winning a Supercross main.
Webb is a Supercross Racer
He's in, but he will want a points gap on his competition going into the 1st round.
I will be shocked if he podiums SMX, but he's gonna win this title, so what do I know.
Thread after thread after thread.... the funniest one of late is the JA21 thread.
Is it any wonder DramaMX is a laughing stock.
Pit Row
I had to get a good look at Webb's outdoor results. Those saying how awful he is outdoors, that really isn't true. Just do some scrolling here. I know it was a while ago, but he had several repeat wins outdoors in his 250 days too:
Cooper Webb Supercross & Motocross Results - Racer X
No one is denying he was great on a 250. When he got to the 450 class things changed...
I suspect that unless the rider wants an outdoor title you'll see more of the top guys only do as many outdoor rounds, if any, necessary to secure enough points to be in playoffs come fall.
I would imagine it will still pay the $1 million-ish bonus, so I think you should still see a few heavy hitters out there going for the title. If anything a guy like Webb (4-8) is less likely to show up, except for a few rounds to get more points for SMX.
I wonder if they really needed SMX, if anything it takes away from some guys racing to skip for a championship later in the season. It's like a top player in the NFL skipping weeks 15-18, to get ready for the playoffs, even though they could be fully healthy. Sure this happens some in the NFL, but usually only week 18.
Maybe they should change it to where payouts are higher as the series goes on for more incentive for guys to be out there. Or reduce the SMX payout some to pay more for nationals.
Cooper Webb - Unadilla 2024 (only national) 15th with 8-35 moto scores. He's not awful, he's just not the same guy he is in supercross.
Thought he previously stated the flat out speed in 450mx is insane and he's not comfortable going that fast?
Well, my friends do say I'm pathetic.. of the tele variety
You may or may not be right.
Because the sport we love is called Motocross. Supercross is a derivative. SMX is just marketing.
It’s weird that some of you seem to be cheering and hoping Webb DOESN’T race outdoors. Little weird.
I don't think it's cheering, I think history repeats itself. He's not expected to be a championship contender, so I expect him to race a few and bow out. I hope he does race all season, the more top guys the better.
Yaa which was why it’s kinda a head scratcher that they bench him now.
