DB said he’s going to be going in on Matthes, JT and Coombs on his Thursday show this week. 😬
I've met Ricky 3 times in person, each time at Washougal.. One time in particular in 2005 he had a friend who was looking for him and the will call area. My wife and I helped his friend and actually had him in our car when Ricky went by in the opposite direction in a golf cart looking for him. They pointed at each other and laughed and we handed his friend off to him. Then Ricky asked us if there was anything he could do for us for helping him and his friend. We told him no, we were good and he asked if we were sure because he appreciated our help. In my experience he was very kind, and appreciative to us, and I've always remembered it.
DB’s cookesy origin story has begun…
The only thing that could make this thread better is if DB was represented by Mirts.

Have you seen the other thread? It's even better than this one.
There's no hate. Just a wish for commentating on a decent level, like MotoGP, or MXGP. Do you expect people to say, "I see your point shitty announcing is OK."
Well RC's a nice guy to you, that is way cool genuinely. But that doesn't mean he's qualified to be a race commentator, nor that he is nice to everyone.
NBC is NBC, the home of Rachel Maddow.
Enough said.
It’s all of it, I just could stand it anymore.
Perhaps NBC could purchase a few Tesla robots running Chat GPT to operate the cameras and to do the broadcast commentary. Would that somehow make it better or worse? Then the series viewership would skyrocket due to being the absolute highest tech broadcast in the world! The sponsors would literally be smashing each other over the head with clubs and drooling to throw some real money into the show that is supercross. Of course, I dont know who will hold the robots up so they dont fall over and I am certain any AI interviews would be serious comedy, but shit ya never know. Personally I would use the Boston Dynamics robots, vastly superior in every way.
I can't imagine putting together production for golf without absolute 100% aces in the booth. Obviously not the place for an RC.
The action is literally a second or two long -- and then just minutes of landscape photography.
I wonder…
Will ANYONE ever “get it” when Uptite is casting his one liners? 🤣
I laughed when I saw it.
Smart asses unite!😁
😂😂😂
I didn't downvote, but if I was going to it, would be because of the lack of a pipe...
Did RC get fired yet? I’m pissed.
Idk, neither my wife nor mom really care for motocross but will sit and watch with us. Neither of them can stand Ricky either
They can't stand him, why?
Pit Row
I'm not on anyone's side here just because I don't really care i like both guys. But I've met Ricky 6+ times and he was always super friendly and actually went out of his way to do something for me before. He remembered me from the time he did something for me atleast 2 times after that. I also was good friends with a girl that wrote him a letter and he actually wrote back I forget what all was included but he went out of his way to do that. This was all 20+ years ago. I can only imagine how many people were pulling him every which way for stuff. So just like you I have no bad experiences or any signs of him being a bad guy with my interactions.
Boxing. These commentators are so on point.
The only thing getting DB out of the you know what is Walty Wanders.
db villain arc
DB had every right to voice his frustration, but I’d be curious to know if he regrets any part of that video now. I learned a long time ago to give myself at least a day before I go scorched earth. That video seemed like he pulled in the driveway, still out of breath and fired the camera up and started recording.
HaHa, I miss that bike. But it hasn't gone far. My buddy that owns the property has it now. So it's still in the "moto family". My "under-powered" stock RMZ450 is treating me just fine now though. Love it's power delivery and handling and of course tractor-like traction.
A few more pics from the day.
I get what you are saying, post RDL frustrations and all. But everything else was years in the making and people have been repeatedly speculating why he disappeared from the broadcast team. I can imagine that was the opener of a lot of the conversations he had in the industry, it was certainly a topic in every interview he gave. I can imagine if when he quit if he just immediately just came out then and said why, like Langston, Emig, or Bailey the furor would be substantially less. Like a public resignation when it first happened, this whole not telling for years didn't work out. It almost brought too much attention to the topic. It is a good thing hardcore fans of this sport like shitty broadcasting, RC was nice to somebody 10 years ago, and broadcasting doesn't really matter at all anyway when viewed by a million paying subscribers.
That actually very cool. When you take into account the number of fans he must meet. For him to remember you means he was really engaged in your conversation and not just going through the motions
None of this means a single fucking thing towards this conversation?
Daniel's in a different place than me. He's quite a bit younger, 15 years. I get why he'd lay low and not run it up the management and legal tree. 15 years ago, my daughters were 8 and 5. I had a full-time job and all focus was on them, my Wife, and our family. Engaging in a years long legal battle against some behemoths, would not satisfy the risk-reward formula. Especially for a family man. But, I can guarantee he's documented everything because he's a smart dude.
As proud as us NorCal dudes are of Danny "Magoo" Chandler, Rick Ryan, Steve Lamson, Darrell Shultz (to name a few), you can add Daniel's name to that list as well. And he's someone the average moto-dude can relate to far easier too. Life's hard and you learn more from your failures than successes. He's admitted to mistakes in his moto career in the past and has brought that knowledge to prospective phenoms on the horizon. But, in his broadcasting career there really are/were no mistakes..or coulda/woulda/shoulda's.
HIs hard work and preparation (or preperate as RC would say) is/was clearly evident. He earned his seat at the table, yet that wasn't good enough. No, it was too good. And that scared a few folks, especially one with Red-Hair.
Could go on and on, but what Daniel did with his truth video was purely (IMO) for himself. He needed to vent, get it out. We need to do that sometimes to move forward. Doesn't mean broadcasting's a closed chapter. Not at all. The truth will continue to rise to the surface (this isn't going away)
I'm very proud that our NorCal phenom from Lodi (moto and broadcasting) has his priorities in order. He demonstrates this is a family sport through and through and that he is a family man. A lot to be proud of Daniel, you're an inspiration even to older dudes 15 years your senior. 👍
ps.

Relax wacko. I responded to his comment. Maybe keep scrolling if you don't like it. Some of you are taking this shit way too seriously
Family member got married last year and wife who was around 5 years old when RC retired, knows nothing about the sport, started watching with us because that's what newlyweds do and it took her about two races before she asked who the guy who can't talk is and why does he have this job.
RC gets criticized for the job he's doing because he isn't good at it. That's it.
You can admit that without it saying anything at all about how much it impacts your viewing experience or how obsessed you are. It's not a commentary about his character or his effort. Years into this and he isn't good at it. The only head scratcher here is what motivates some to deny a very obvious truth?
Also lost in all of this is that DB wasn't coming after RC's job. They had different jobs. They could have worked together for a long time. This never had to be an RC vs DB thing and it wasn't DB who took it there.
