Sexton should be destroying Coop speed wise every week, but he's his own worst enemy. Coop just knows how to do just enough each week, and not push it and make silly mistakes when he's not in a spot to take the win or make up a position.

That being said, anything can happen with 8 left. Still no mudders this season so there's always that to spice things up

Coop led every lap and had the fastest lap in the main last night. Weird to say he’s doing “just enough”.

I think we’ve gotten accustomed to riders like early 450 Tomac, Sexton, and Deegan who just ride on the ragged edge at all times. You get used to seeing that and then a rider like CW, who is always under control, seems like they don’t have the ‘speed’

Webb will likely win a handful of the remaining races and podium the rest.  Him winning the title seems like a 90% probability IMO.

I don’t dislike Webb, but I don’t think he’s particularly likeable or particularly fun to watch race.  He does his thing and I respect it, but I’m never on the edge of my seat hoping he wins like I am with several other 450 riders.

That might be specific to me and my biases but 🤷🏽‍♂️

Webb’ll win it. He’ll win every race this year. Sexton’ll get 3rd or 4th. He’ll crash out and have to come from behind in a couple of races. He won’t win another SX this season (lead a couple and crash while leading).

Wins atleast 3 more and podiums all 8 for the title.

Two years ago people said the same thing, and then...

I still think Sexton gets it, he has the speed advantage most of the time and usually gets better at the end of the year, the problem is that Webb should be on the podium most rounds

I couldn't agree more. He's boring. Before I get his fanboys down my throat, I mean in relation to the other top guys. Yes if I was at a practice track and Webb was there I could watch him in awe the whole day. But compared to Jett and Chase he doesn't have their technique or flair. He's not WFO, manhandling his bike like Eli. Even compared to a guy like Ando, who's loose with his jersey untucked flying.

What's not to like, he put Friese in his place...

The math on this is pretty solid for webb.

8 races left. If webb wins any 2 of them he can finish second while chase wins the other 6 and webb will still win the championship. Chase has to win 7 of 8 to control his own fate.

In other words, chase can show up in two weeks a changed man and be fairly dominant the rest of the way and it still is not likely to be enough unless webb has a bad round or two.

Do feel like this doesn't get enough attention in all this discussion. For all the mental toughness talk, he hasn't made it through SX season healthy in years. Was injured most of last year just rode through it. Started this year with month off the bike leading up to it.....

Chase is a man, and sometimes the man, but Coop is a dog.

Coop has proven he has the complete package this year, and he hasn't even had to try get into Chase's head yet or give the old bump and run in turn 1.

The only way Coop loses this is by mechanical failure or injury.

I guess theres no point in having any more races. Kenny and Chase might as well just give up. Just go ahead and hand out the trophy.

Unless, the rest of the series is as unpredictable as the first part was. In that case its game on.

Or, if a lapper takes him out, or if he goes flying over a berm.

If the remaining races were in closed stadiums, most likely. With the remaining 8 races in open air stadiums, this is long from being decided.

I could not have overstated more in my post that I am indifferent as opposed to disliking the guy, but people’s interpretation of that is their own thing.  I just never had feelings about the dude one way or the other 🤷🏽‍♂️

Like I said, he’s the best so far this year and will likely win and I respect that

I remember Langstons rear wheel breaking when he had the championship in the bag.

McGrath had the championship on the Suzuki but something happened and Emig ended up #1.

Tomac was unbeatable and then he crashed and damaged both shoulders.

Anderson was going to wrap up the #1 early the got a footpeg through his front wheel

Tomac had the championship in the bag and snapped his achelis tendon. Coop then had it in the bag but got hurt. Then Chase fell ass backwards into the championship.

It's still way to early and too many things can happen.

Ummm, Coop was out before Eli was so it was never his to claim.

Coop gonna Coop. He wins unless Sexton hires a mental coach and wins out.

8 to go? Can we skip a few and re-rack em' for outdoors already?!! The winds out of the sails for this season for me..

Jett out, Tomac out, post arm injury Roczen and Sexton is mental case. Webb should have this in the bag. Will be the man to beat until May. Then Sexton will be 40 seconds in front but he will have already crashed away the SX title.

Alot of open air stadiums coming up, in a rainy part of the year. It might end up at the end of the year that all these races up until Indy won't matter at all because of havoc from mud races.

If anything I am more of a fan of Webb then I've ever been. I don't root for him by any means. But you have to respect him. He just flat out gets it done. Nothing about his riding draws me in, that's all. He's got no flair. Plus I'm way more of an outdoor fan and we see what he's like in mx on a 450. I certainly appreciate how good he is in sx though
