Moved to the Midwest 20-years ago from the DFW area. LOTS of money in the Grapevine/Colleyville area...and lots of "fake money" there too. People in their leased Mercedes' living paycheck to paycheck.

Sounds like Mirtl was like a cat covering up crap, trying to keep his nose above water.

“The rider in question is also managed by Mirtl according to the filing. If we'd have to guess, this would probably be Tiger Woods.”

Tiger woods huh? Damn they got some big names at the lawrence compound. I know they meant tiger wood, but that gave me a chuckle.

This is why you don't go on podcasts and claim innocence before the court documents come out. Now he just sounds like a bigger liar. I like how he never truly denied anything except that he was more worried about how it went down. Like, BRO you obviously committed these crimes and you're thinking you'll be able to counter sue because they fired you and made it publicly known? What an idiot.

Absolutely NOT defending this piece of trash, but when he was on Pulp he did say the allegations were "categorically false"

The RV for the Coenen bros made me laugh a little. Like Mirtl saw fast brothers in Europe and thought oh hey, ctrl+c

So I Mirtl had to be making some pretty good money as an agent of top athletes - to take money for fricken childcare is mind boggling 😂

Ironically - I heard on a podcast that Ken Roczens dad funded an RV for the Lawerence’s when they were starting out - they did  pay him back of course.

I feel sorry for Mirtl's lawyer. He'll want to know the details of every single transaction in dispute.

Given that Mirtl doesn't seem to be able to string a coherent sentence together, that's going to be a tough task.

Sounds like he was trading in for the younger model in his personal and professional life.

Is there some alternate universe where he actually thought he was "family" and that Jett/Hunter wouldn't mind him using 600k to help himself and make future money? I mean he actually wrote what the payments were for. When your talking that much money you can't just do as you please without permission. It'd be incredibly sad if he actually thought they wouldn't care. One look from anybody and there immediate thought is theft. The Astar stuff in particular is head scratching because he had to know that someone from Astars would talk to the Lawrence family eventually. It's like he knew this day was coming. Maybe it's a guy struggling thru a divorce, maybe there's some drugs/alcohol involved, or maybe it's just pure scum baggery. Regardless it's just sad.

No kidding!!

If his scam would have kept going, he would have eventually showed up to the Lawrence compound with a briefcase full of IOU's like on Dumb and Dumber, LOL!!

This looks pretty damning for mirtl but lets see how this play out in court. We only have one side of the story at this point. (It doesn’t look good but that’s what the plaintiffs representations job is after all)

True, though what would be an acceptable answer at this point? Even if the Lawrence camp in writing gave him permission to additional funds to cover whatever he was using them for, it still seems like taking them out of the account in question in this manner would not be SOP.

it would be foolish for any of us to think we are close enough to the situation to speculate IMO.  It's clear that mirtl thinks there was wrong doing by Wasserman and possibly Jacob Hayes to throw him under the bus so we'll see what comes out of it.  This is only the very beginning and a lot more is likely to come out in court.

Gotta say, Tiger Wood’s dad is an asshole for naming him that, lol.

Anyone have any idea how long federal criminal investigation on something like this would usually take? I'm guessing that isn't something that happens quickly.

No way. Ohtani's translator stole nearly 20 million and he's looking at 5 years.

this isn't criminal at this point I don't believe.  This is a civil lawsuit.

As someone else mentioned, it was likely Alpinestars that reached out to the Lawrences after not being compensated, despite asking Mirtl several times to repay them for the merchandise. They are the only external entity that would've been curious why thier #1 athlete was late on his bills. Mirtl being in charge of that payment, would've led the family to begin thier internal investigation which would've uncovered all of the additional "looting" of that account. Really, if Mirtz pays Alpinestars, this probably continues on for awhile longer until something similar happens. No one really cares where the money comes from, as long as they are getting paid.

I don’t think his name is actually tiger, just a nickname

I agree that is probably how this was discovered. I doubt Mirtl had the money to pay Astars.

Maybe the Coenen bros were planning to pay them back for the RV? Much like when somebody bought the Lawrence’s an RV back in their Euro days and they paid them back. Can’t remember who bought them an RV back in the day but I remember their dad saying that somebody helped them out with that.

???

The court filing is a civil filing.  It mentions they are preparing to submit criminal complaints.  But no confirmation that criminal complaints have been filed.

Isn’t there some speculation on that though? That the translator took the fall in part to help cover up Ohtani’s gambling to keep him in the MLB? Like the rumors of Jordan getting run out of the NBA because of his gambling on basketball and then he had that weird baseball stint.

That would be about the dumbest thing he could do. Must not have a lawyer.
