I am a older rider currently riding a klx300r. Would LOVE to have a 300 2 stroke woods/enduro bike to ride. Miss my 2 strokes. Hopefully this is what Kawasaki is doingl. Electric start a must (im old lol)

Kawasaki has generations of work to even come close to KTMs 300s in the off-road segment. That being said an electric start counterbalanced 250 or 300 would be a great move by them make an MX bike and one with a bigger tank and 18” rear.
I’m not saying you’re incorrect at all, and no reference on the kx250 but the bike that made me switch back to two strokes was a 2006 rm250 and the reason for the switch was it was way less work to ride and race fast for a long time. Basically what to describe but in reverse. On a 450 I was a passenger, on a 250 two stroke I can handle everything it has so it doesn’t get away from me. Anytime I had a race that was 9-10 laps on the 450 I was fading and on the 250 I was charging.
As a two stroke rider I’m super stoked to see what Kawi is bringing to the table!
Don’t know if this was posted, but AC confirmed it on RDL. Said a full sized two stroke is in development.
I hope it’s a low priced, more basic 125. One a dad can put in the back of his truck/ van/ car and take his kid racing.
Kid will learn how to rebuild top ends, adjust carbs, clean airfilters etc.
Kawasaki never claimed the sound was from a new unreleased bike or even from a Kawasaki, they may be using a generic 2 stroke sound to advertise an updated KX85.
Do you really think Kawasaki’s engineers don’t understand how KTMs 2 stroke models work? Do you honestly believe it would take Kawi “generations” to come up with something similar? Beta, Sherco and TM seemed to have figured it out perfectly fine. Yet it’ll take Kawi “generations” to come up with something similar 🤣 come on dude, 2 stroke dirt bikes aren’t rocket science. This isn’t new crazy technology here. If this ends up being a race ready 250 or 300 with E-start and good suspension it’s gonna sell like crazy. I bet Yamaha will be regretting their decision to not get E-start on their 250x sooner.
All you people hoping for a budget friendly 125 or 250 are setting yourselves up for disappointment. Plenty of used bikes for those on a budget.
A cutting edge 125 or 250 would be far more marketable.

Most don’t “need” it. But lots “want” it.

They wouldn’t have advertised and hyped it up on the SX broadcast the way they did if it was an updated 85. 😂
Talked to someone in the know at A2 tonight, I heard 2 new bikes, a big one and a small one. Based on questions I asked I was able to find out the big bike will be a 300+ cc 2 stroke mx bike. Sounds like it will compete with the new KTM 300 that everyone loves.
I'll put money on the fact that it's not a Woods/Trail bike. No chance. All you guys that ride woods talk a big game, but you very rarely buy new bikes. Look at the massive flops when it comes to off-road specific models. CRF-X, CRF-L, KX-X, YZ-X, RM-X Sales of these models pales in comparison to the MX counterparts. And by a big margin. Even KTM has to release a heap of different off-road models to try please everyone and it still doesn't work. It will be a new KX motocrosser. Get used to it !!
Kawasaki is making a bigger effort in GNCC and National Enduro for 2025 and I would expect they figured out how many 2 Strokes are being sold off road.
The industry stopped publishing detailed data, but historically non-competition have outsold enduro models, which have outsold motocross models...
Don't know if this has been posted before, but around 2020 Kawasaki patented a fuel injected 2 stroke engine with a Turbo, ideally to be used in a Hybrid Engine, don't think the MX model will be a hybrid due to the weight, but a MX bike is a perfect testing model for this kind of engine, here is the CycleWord árticle about it. Kawasaki has already hybrid motorcycles in their lineup, Honda also patented a turbocharged 3 cylinder engine for motorcycles, so I believe this Kawi won't be like the old 2 stroke models of the early 2000s...
