Haha that was right before the 2 stroke nationals in 2020. Believe it or not, that bike has HUNDREDS of hours! We’ve had it since brand new in 2004.

That’s quite an impressive statement! I am the 2nd owner of my ‘04 250 and my ‘03 125. They will never leave me. Something about riding a really fast “antique”. Honestly not too far removed from my ‘79 RM125. Hope Kawi. isn’t yanking our chain.

A decent priced 125 for entry level riders would be a hit!

Well the guy who told me has been involved with Factory Kawasaki for years in the past, and I didn’t take it seriously back then. It could be accurate after all if they really going to launch a new KX….

The  audio they posted sounds like a bigger bike to me. 250/300  .  Who knows , maybe they will have a 125 and 250 .  So cool either way to have a new 2 stroke from Kawasaki.

I love the potential stuff that will be possible with electrics , but as far as the sound goes. NOTHING sounds better than a crisp 2 stroke.

How cool would it be to have some of the guys that ride for brands that have 2 strokes, run them on a retro night?   Webb on a YZ 250, AP on a 250sx, Barcia , etc.   Doubt it would happen , but it would be great publicity for a brand if they had a guy that was not in the fight for the title. A 90's race with Factory  2 strokes racing.

Nice.

Had the 2003 model - fun bike but would vibrate itself in circles in the driveway when on the axle stand. 😄

I had a visual of this happening in my head and it made me lol....

Gorgeous!!

How is the vibration compared to the steel frame?

Thx. A little worse but mostly at the hands. The xtrigs fixed that issue.

No real details other than its a  X-Country bike. Most are assuming a 300 but beyond that I have not heard details. Its been kinda known about within the industry but they have done a great job of keeping it under wraps.

Seems like such a simple thing to do for the Japanese companies....  they could essentially bring back their last generation 2-strokes using the tooling (or at least the designs).    Just throw on modern forks, shocks,  brakes....    You don't need a whole new redesign.

Juts look at the YZ125/250 smokers....still rippin sales and tracks after all these years.

It will be trails bike if not kids bike. Hype will be gone in one hour.

Probably just a revamped kx65

the audio sample in the video was definitely not a kx65, that was a 250

I have and have had generations of 250 and 500 two strokes. If for real I’m thinking  300-350 from the sound. Practically for homologation to race classes it may be a 250, just sounded north of that to me.

Let’s not put it last marketing to use a sound clip that isn’t the actual engine sound.

I think RDnutz is confusing the KLX300 with the KLX300R. The 300R is a pure trail bike, not a dual sport. Not that it’s in a comparable class to Euro 300 smoker, but it comes closer to fitting the bill of a KDX200 than anything else in the Kawasaki lineup.

It’s a trail bike with little 43mm forks.

Correct. But it’s not a dual sport, was my point.

True.

Meaning it's actually a 4T if the movie people are in charge of the sound clip?

Mid-late 2026… new 125+250, injected, e-start, new chassis.
There may be a “not regular” cc’s bike in late 2027.

Renewed 65+85.
Man i loved my dad’s 01 KX125, i loved JS7 green bikes and i love my 11-19-21-23 kx 250.

I’m 10 hours deep on a new GasGas 250 2t and i’m going back green in the next years.

I know it won’t be, but if this thing is a 500 with a magic button, I’ll have to list some organs on eBay and be first in line for one.

No need to sell your organs. I'm sure there's a local sperm bank near you.

A low tech KX250/300 at 8k would kill it in todays market - atleast my off-road market
