A photo of that airbox open will officially get me killed.

Back in the day I used to shoot anything, but I have a rule with teams now. If the bikes isn't fully assembled, I won't shoot unless I'm told I can.

Now if it's middle of day, when fans are in the pits and if I'm shooting outside a team's tent, then it's a different story.

On press day or early Saturday morning and when I'm in their area, I keep it fair. Most teams have also gotten a lot more strict about bikes being visible when stuff is opened up. They either cover certain areas when working, or take them behind and even in the rig if it's a very sensitive point on the bike.

Always a awesome feature. But, I do feel the teams are way to weird about that. Do you know how easy it would be for someone to just snap a photo that wanted to on an opposing team? I mean if someone paid me the right price I’d just sit outside of star and get the photo needed very easily outside of the pit party etc.

Wasn’t sure what everyone was talking about, wanting to see. In that case you’re correct. Outdoors it’s more of a free for all during set up, press day, also the end of the event when everything’s getting torn down before the end of the day. But yeah something like that would be disrespectful if you’re under the tent with permission and leak that.

Seems like in the last 8-10 years the pits have became more of a free for all which is good for the fans.

What grips does Jett run?  The texture looks more pronounced then a standard diamond pattern.

Keefer has an article from last year regarding pro bar bends and grips and he has them on Renthal tapered grips which have those big bumps.

How many do you think you take a weekend, including press day? I got over 1,000 just from the stands, a little from the pits but not much. Now I need to find the motivation to edit all of them.

Try some smelling salts.😇

Get a Haiden-like voice to scream “OUCH” from over near the other side of the tent, that should buy you about 4 pictures

So....are the KTM guys using stock forks with specialized internals?  That sounds so odd on supercross.  What is up with those forks?

Plessinger has used them outdoors for the last two years and Musquin used them too at least a couple times at the end of 2022.

I had heard that!  I would love to hear more about this.  Is the production stuff that we all refuse to use better left alone?  They tested and came to the conclusion that the stock AER is better......tell us more about it.

What this means is that either system can work and give good enough handling but they will feel different. If a rider doesn’t like the feel, the rest of the performance doesn’t matter. The pro riders also have a mechanic working on their bike all day to give them the exact air pressure they like. My experience with aer is that they take a long time to break in and they are extremely sensitive to axle alignment. I found they get harsh quickly if you don’t realign the axle often. With coil springs you can pretty much ignore the axle alignment assuming you did it right the first time.

You also need to bleed the air from the fork outer chambers more often on aer vs coil springs.

Was Kawi asking you to not get close ups of their 450 airbox? It seems like there's no shots showing the left side. Very curious what they're doing in that area.

Operation Air Box... we need a super hot blonde so lets call up Dianna Dahlgreen to interview the Star team and keep the attention span. We will slip through the other side of the tent with an overly large yet overt camera, take our photos, give the throttle two twists, and exit stage right.

Same as last year, works airbox with the older style filter element. Side plates are water jet cut out for extra flow.

Excellent job as usual with Pit Bits, ML512.

One small correction about the info on the HRC Team Honda works Showa forks...

worksshowa.jpg?VersionId=.6

The larger hex head adjust spring preload while the smaller hex head (previously had a little lever mounted on it) adjust compression.

@ML512 Is there a reason you didnt post any pictures of Chases bike and not responding to questions about his fork setup?  Last year the KYB inserts were a big talking point, I think its a fair that people want to know if he's still using them.

I didn’t get a super clear shot of the fork caps at A1.

From a glance, it looks like they’ve mated the KYB parts with WP a lil more. Top caps appear to being back to a WP CV part but lugs still suggest KYB conversion.

So they figured out a way to make the Kyb internals look more like WP. Also noticed when ever a seat is off a Austria bike the ECU is covered up. What brand ecu are they using

Did Deegan use his Trump helmet (which clearly breaks an AMA rule)?

Yes he did run it at A1, for press day and all of race day. What AMA rule does it break?

Unlike France we have the 1st amendment, right to free speech. How is a helmet an issue with his beliefs, whether political or not?

Thanks for posting

Kind of subtle changes but the Phoenix Hondas do look great, more cohesive than last year. Also, the RMZ pretty much always looks beautiful even if these graphics aren't the best (imo, kind of boring).

Right to free speech doesn't necessarily carry over into professional sports/racing/jobs in general.
