Haiden owes us nothing.

But as a fan, I would’ve loved to have seen how he would have done against the best riders in Europe. The MXoN is the only chance to see the best of the best race each other. Good luck to Chase, Aaron and Chance.

Only a few more hours until Herr Lich wakes up. Let’s see what knowledge he drops before we move forward…..

He owes the fans (and most anyone else in any situation) honesty and integrity.

"Most Pro’s won’t even acknowledge injuries" that's right, and he didn't at the beginning of the year because it was too his advantage to hide it.

Now, when it is too his advantage to use it as an excuse to not race MXdN, he acknowledges it. I'm not buying that a recent x-ray and Dr recommendation is tipping the scales on not attending MXdN. He should have just said he's out earlier, as other racers have done in years past. There is something else going on to make the decision so late - is it Tomac withdrawing?

Way to sound super cliche. Everyone says this dumb phrase anytime a rider does something that the majority of people disagree with. Nobody cares that you think they don’t owe us anything, Nobody was saying he owes us anything to start with.

People that post dumb shit like this OP crack me up. By your logic sally, all riders owe us nothing therefore we shouldn’t even have a forum to talk about them thus taking away your own post albeit really really stupid. Why have talk shows about the nfl? Those athletes owe them nothing. Why have an smx insider show? The rider owe weege nothing.

Absolutely nothing. As a professional athlete, he only has two major responsibilities: to provide ROI to his sponsors and to make as much money as possible while he can. That’s it. Sports “patriotism” is only important to fans, which is not entirely inconsequential, but has never been a driving factor for pro athletes.

I’d like an ice cream cone.

Doesn't owe anything to anyone.

What I don't like is team deegs thinking we're all gullible morans....yes, morans.

Not a fan of athletes who break their wrist and cover it up and refer to it as a sprain. Then that same rider, for some reason goes out of his way to boast about being an American rider and at every opportunity waves the flag on the podium like he's some kinda patriot.  Then uses that same sprained wrist as an excuse as to why he's not gonna represent his country in the MXDN even though anyone with an IQ over 80 sees through that excuse as being mega weak when looking at the circumstances involved.

If you believe the above nonsense that you wrote, then you probably fall into that category of gullible morans.

It's been known since the beginning of sx that Haiden had some type of wrist injury, and Haiden said weeks ago that he did not know if he would be able to attend the MXoN. He also said that he wanted to, and alluded that he did not yet know which implies they were waiting for more information before making a final decision.

The timeline is right there for all to see, yet vitalmx's qualified and trained doctors and psychological experts have assured us all that Haiden and Star are not being honest, that he's afraid of Kay de Wolf, that he's not really a patriot, doesn't deserve to go to next years MXoN, that his wrist is fine and it's just a cover up, etc. etc.

Yeah, this.

Most pros will hide an injury and ride through it, but then they come clean about it after they're healed up.

Deegan got hurt, went silent, and THEN lied about the wrist injury when the whole industry knew it was a lie. Just lIke he's lying now about having to miss the MXdN because of his previously "sprained" wrist from last December.

Oh, and also because Eli wouldn't race.

Oh, and also because Star suddenly doesn't lIke to fund MXdN efforts.

He didn’t owe this necessarily, but an american won the american pro motocross championship for the first time in 4 years, and did it by being the man the whole season really.

I don’t care. Sorry if that’s rude, if it is, you may need to rethink the words you can tolerate without getting mad.

OK he might not owe the fans anything, BUT, BUT, here me out.  Brian (or Star Yamaha) packs up the family and heads to MATTERLEY BASIN for the MXoN race.  The mighty 38 shows up in the USA pits (cast and all)  and cheers on his fellow competitors.  He would also learn how everything works and prep him for 2025.  Sign some auto's for the Euro's and expand his fan base.  Come on Danger Boy, help out Chunky-Chunk.  Don't forget they are racing for your 2025 MXoN race number, we want to see you with NUMBER 2 next year.

This was my thought as well, but considering everything we should realize we very rarely get honesty from riders or their teams. Sadly it creates a divide and being honest here while Eli was at Kawi and not doing the MXdN I looked down on him, and as impressed as I had been with his riding - him not doing MXdN made me a non-fan for several years. I've been able to look past that through the years since he's been so impressive in the sport, but for a few years I was anti-Eli. While Haiden is an incredible talent I'm a fan of his skills but with his podium attitude swings, and now again having an excuse for not going (when he would have if Eli was) it makes it easier to be a Haiden non-fan. Honesty is a rare commodity in pro-moto IMO...

It’s just a joke to lighten the mood in here.

For the record, I could care less. He can do whatever TF he wants but this wouldn’t even be a topic of discussion if they had just been honest from the start of the season. He’ll be the one to beat next year and continue the “F the haters” attitude. All of which is perfectly OK with me.

Nah, that would be even more cringe-worthy than waiving the flag only when it benefits him.

The real reason he isn't going to Matterly Basin is because there's about 8 Euros on 450's and a couple on 250's that would smoke him on that Euro track.

I got back into watching pro moto in 2013 after taking about 10 years off paying attention. When I saw Tomac and Roczen giving it 110% in Teuchental that cemented me being a fan of both of them after a summer of dogfighting between them at the nationals. Racing for their countries, beating most of the 450s on the line, it was pure and fun, something you don't get in a youtube of tiktok video produced by their entourage. Don't think I'll ever be a fan of Deegans.

Apologies, but i agree with you, he will be the one to beat, depending on how Tom is next year, or what coast. Cant wait to see Haiden on west coast sx next year.

So I guess most of the 102.000 attendees in France are members here😂

Would be more correct to write: "Outside of vital. Most fans of Moto have no idea about Haiden Deegan. No idea….. Nor do they care."

Maybe you’ve forgotten but we are the customer.

Hint: Every single sponsor who pays money to them has one goal in mind; to get US to buy their products. They are all literally salesman.

“Owes Us Nothing”…keep saying that and acting accordingly. Sooner or later you will learn otherwise.

OH NO NO NO ! He owes Vital  the rights to his first born .  He owes his Fans for everything .  They have put in the work and without them he would be flipping burgers  at Jack in the box .

You (& many others) cant quite grasp the concept that with no fans, professional athletes dont have a job.

Fans, PAY to enter venues to watch.
Fans, buy Yamahas.
Fans drink Monster energy.
Fans buy 100% goggles and so on & on & on...

With no fans buying, there is no job for Haiden, or the rest of them.

Winning races is only a part of it. The ultimate goal of the professional athlete is to be as likeable a personality as possible, AND be good at his sport, this gives an athlete a 'value' to sponsors.
Of course, different folks admire different things in people. Quite clearly a lot of people like Haiden's personality, whilst it is clear to see by the posting on forums that a lot of people dislike his personality.

Imagine his value if he could win EVERYONE over.

With regards to going (or not going) to MXoN, fans might be disappointed to not have a certain rider represent, therefore have feelings of resentment to a rider/team/brand & might buy something else they feel more warm to. but if a fan has already invested their heart, soul & cash in to a brand because of a particular rider he likes, THIS is where he owes it to the fans to represent.

We are all fans of certain things because of the way it made us feel when we saw it on tv or in the hands of our heroes. If Chase & Aaron bring home the MXoN win and look good doing it, the patriotism felt across your country will be insane! And I bet a load of people 'fancy' a new KTM on Monday morning, or maybe some new alpinstars gear or maybe even a cowboy hat..
