In Europe.......![]()
What is the official reason the knuckleheads at the AMA cannot also put on 125cc motos on race weekends? 🙄
They seem pretty alive to me.

Those EMX races are fun to watch.
125cc racing is also alive and well in the US. At the Texas spring nationals there were 63 entries in Schoolboy 1 at Freestone and 42 at Oak Hill. In the Fall there were 78 entries at Mini-O's. Yamaha, KTM, Husky, GasGas and even Team Green all have supported riders on 125's. Looks like Beta will also be joining the fun in '25.
125s seem popular anywhere but the US, at least from what I’ve seen. It’s a shame, I do love them. Going through an ‘88 CR now for vintage racing.
Over 60 entries in schoolboy 1 at spring a ding too. Same with 125 B/C
There’s been a recent move back towards the small bore bikes in the USA. I love it!

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Honda, Kawaski, Suzuki don't make one and they have a lot of say in what goes on in AMA racing.
I always stay at home and watch races on TV. However, if there was a 125cc class in the nationals, I'd go in person and buy stuff.
DC, are you and the series sponsors reading this?
Why don't you go to Mammoth, or Hurricane Mills, or Gainsville, or Oak Hill, or Freestone, or any of the other races where you can see 50+ of the best 125 kids race against each other? Why does it have to be a side show for the nationals?
Honda does not make a 125…… end of story….while we are bitching…. Amateur racing Friday & Saturday… 125 feeder or allstar racing Saturday….. Sunday Nationals with real qualifying to get into the program, no timed bullshit….race your way into the program.
Team Green 125's?
Aus and us nationals need to copy the canadian 125 class. They've got it worked out up there.
if nationals had the class, they'd have a 100 signups for it every weekend. theres some bigger power thats preventing mxsports from letting it happen.
Yes Carson Wood and Ryder Ellis are both Monster Energy Team Green guys and both were racing Kawasaki (PC) 125's at the Texas spring nationals. Last year it was Landon Gordon and Caden Dudney. Before that Krystian Janik, Ryder D, Gavin Towers, Jett Reynolds, Stilez Robertson, Dilan Schwartz, Lance Kobusch, Garrett Marchbanks, Sean Cantrell, all raced 125 Kawi's.
They could, don't know why they don't... Let them qualify after press ride on Friday and race moto 1 before the big bikes qualify and moto 2 after the big bikes qualify.
You've got the Yamaha, the TM, the KTM/GG/Husky and it looks like a Beta soon and Sherco has all the parts too... That would be 6 different bikes on the line since Yamaha has Fantic blocked from import, it could be even more.
The market is there... The commitment from DC and MXSports is not.
Long live the Braaaaaap!!!
Was at Oak Hill a few weeks back just on a practice weekend, man there were some fast kids on 125s. Made me really happy to see it.
I get that, but I guess I don't understand why it does not affect the FIM as well.
And here is the giant hole in DC’s story
That’s the only Mx racing I watch 125 emx & others from anywhere. That’s not a very good race compared to the others out there. Even here Millville 125 b/c qualifier there a couple on yt. A few states that hv a good local scene hv full gates or near it. Pa. Has some big money 125 races , can’t forget PASHA 125 big races. Wi. Has a big 125 racing scene popular tracks hv 30+, no cash tho. Way more style in 125 races much better riders than pro 4-st. I don’t think a top 5 450 guy would win bigger 125 races here . And in 125 they get smoked bad . Watch Prado in 15 on a 125 I swear he was faster. And kids you never heard of hv crazy speed in emx. Deegan wasn’t that fast on a 125 , no way would he be in the top 15 in 125 emx. That’s why he never raced one , they made c19 as an excuse. I,m broke down again emissions shit , last week too. Co put me in a motel girl just started 2 hrs b4 a mechanic dropped me off. No keys for doors , no towels , I asked her what check out time is . She said good question. Haha. Make no money can’t make any money in a 125 series . Because there is no such thing . Me no ride DBP cr125 will rest till 2025. Check this out the gas gas bike sounds soo sick spooling down and building up.
Pit Row
Who said it needs to be a side show? Doesn't look like it is in Europe.
Not everyone has the time or money to go to those races. But if you want to go to an AMA PRO National, you can make that time to see the BEST riders race in our country as well as an awesome 125 race.
My feeling is it would attract more riders to race and also more fans.
All this equals more money for the AMA and promoters, nothing but a win-win to me. I guess I don't understand why not, when manufacturers are still making the bikes and people still love to ride and race them. 🤷
Older 125,s r still competitive The Bradshaw in the UK raced there Nationals on a 97 cr125. 05 cr125 was very equal to a 05 yz125 but the cr 125 handled way better. The 04 is the best handling Mx bike ever. Ryno nails the Truth. I only watch a handful of pro 4-st races. Just too boring even Eli and Chase brief battles a couple yrs ago. There just not exciting too watch. Probably why the sport is Really struggling. Spectators don’t show up we had 2,500+ at our local races b4 the 4-st take ovr. Not even 500 people showed up to watch 4-st race. hardly. Anyone races anymore. A lot of guys they there too hvy or there to hard to ride. Easier to loose a few pounds versus pay for a 100k hospital bill for wadding up a 450.

Are you sure they're not on superminis? I don't see any media of either Wood or Ellis riding full-sized KX125s...
This. It's shame they pulled out. Honda even tried to steer the younger classes of the 2 stroke 85cc to a 4 stroke only, by coming out with their 150 and vying to get it accepted into the 85cc classes.
I've always felt, if you want to race a 4 stroke, the CC's against the 2 strokes should be the same. If Honda wants to race the 85cc classes with a 4 stroke, put out an 85cc 4 stroke against the 2 strokes.
Same for the 125's, 250's and up.
250 2 strokes should race against 250f class at AMA amateur and pro level.
Long live 2 strokes. I actually have 3 KX250 2 strokes. One isn’t pictured here.
Two ‘05’s & a ‘06
The 125 2-stroke is God’s gift to MX. Cheap, light, zero engine inertia, very forgiving in terms of wrecking. You have to ride them, lots of clutch, shifts, maintain speed, and completely unforgiving in terms of lap times. So much fun!
Pure racing on 13th and 14th of July.

For those of you who have not raced in the 125cc class, you have no idea what you have missed.
Bring back the class for the youngsters, and take a big bite out of the cost of a MX machine.
I ride my 09 KTM 150SX more than my YZ250F now. Restoring it was fun, and not all that expensive.
125's are the most fun you can have on two wheels.
