Future for Team USA going to be an interesting one as this year may be harder to find happy candidates than the 2025 running. This year: Here’s hoping Star steps up to send their best outdoor 450 rider (obviously JC32 at the moment, possibly ET3 by October?!), HD38 stays healthy all season, and Sexton finally gets that KTM truly figured out. If not Sexton then AP7 for the shear character and fun of it all. Next year: Would love nothing more than to see ET3 go out on top, a la Carmichael, Stateside. I know it’s a big ask, but the timeline aligns pretty well for an already All-Star career.
As always, timing is everything for the MXdN. Had Dungey returned a year later for his farewell outdoor tour, he would’ve been an easy pick for the 2023 French running. Contracts can play a part, same with Team priorities (shame on Kawasaki for their SX-focused stance). When/If Roger ever steps down will also be a talking point, along with who steps up to fill that iconic role. Honda will more than likely be sending the Lawrence brothers for the foreseeable future; why not plan on sending the whole team with Jo for Japan and Hymas for USA if he stays on the upswing…Lots of variables, always fun to watch!
love Webb, but should he really be a consideration?
In fairness to Webb his two 450 MXDN performances were solid. But his outdoor results since then have been not good….
That, and 2015/2016 were already almost 10 years ago (that is crazy)
How many times does it have to be said? JCoop's wedding was scheduled last year around the original date of the race. They changed it and it conflicted with his wedding. He was the anchor to the US winning in '22. You would have to be nuts to pick RJ over JCoop. Same goes for Tomac unless he gets solid time back on the bike. Sexton, JCoop, and Deegan is a great team. I know all the Vital badasses think he should have canceled his wedding for the race but he's not core like them

Ah his wedding was last year . My mistake , time flies
Hahahahaha!! You are a fucking chode. Its unbearable.
You are the epitomy of the American fucktard.
Europeans,Asians,People the world over etc are all accepting of the scene, the good and the bad but you just can't accept that you are NOT number 1.
Youve never been outside the country have you? Let alone your salty ass passive agressive northwest attitude.
You got SMOKED in your own backyard by the Europeans at the 18' mxdn.
Name the top 'minor league' guys that have ever raced in the GP series 'that end up coming to America'
Besides Herlings,Gasjer,Everts as they are the cherry pickers 🤣🤣🤣
Oh man your a fucking clown.🤡
Def not Craig
*epitome…
pot meet kettle!
Take J Coop down, I would put him before Sexton at the moment.
I was just as surprised by the downvotes. I think that would be a great team.
I’ve been saying it all year but people are sleeping on Jcoop. If he can step up his fitness and fix a few things he will be a contender
As of right now sexton Deegan cooper. Easy. Justin cooper was completely clutch for us at red bud. He will step up.
the only thing that would bump him is tomac. I wouldn’t be horrified if cooper Webb went because he’s also clutch at mxdn.
Anyone who wants AP or RJ as anything but a last resort is high as shit. AP especially. He’s stunk it up twice. RJ’s side chick is the dirt.
the bigger question is around the TEAM MANAGER?????/
seems to be some underlying issues there?
CHASE , DANGERboy pick themselves already.....J coop and AP to fight it out for #2 450?
The same people who thought Craig was a good idea think Rj or AP are a good idea
Im more than happy with any top guys that are willing to go while others stay behind.
sexton, cooper, and deegan should be pretty solid. Webb or Anderson could also do well.
wouldn’t be mad at all if RJ went again, he deserves it for stepping up last year
His first post didn’t say anything about hating the US moto scene.
It said he would like to see RJ rewarded for showing up.
Then some of the names I see all over Vital decided to turn it into a thing.
Zacho is an America Hero I am all for him being involved in some way. Rider, manager, whatever that dude has the heart of a damn eagle. I'll say it again line I did on another post. We need to assemble the killers that have shown they love this race. RC, RV, Zacho as managers, coaches or something. No wives, girlfriends or man friends the entire week of the race until it's over. Send them off in the state of mind they are going to war. No prisoners, kill em all. We need sharks going to this thing. As much as I am not a Deegan fan and don't like that he turned it down last year, I think he would probably ride his balls off and is total dgaf who he is racing against. I do want guys that actually want to go. These dudes should be fighting each other for the chance.
Pit Row
The only team he'll be on will be Team Couch.
Thanks for understanding 👌🏻
Yep and the MXdN date had to be changed because of the SdMX scheduling.
What Zacho ever done at Mxdn? Forgive my ignorance…
Sexton and Deegan are shoe in's if healthy. Right now the Open class rider is J Cooper and it's not really close. That's the A Team..
If Tomac came back healthy and before decision time was winning a few motos, maybe even an overall, etc... Sure, he seems like the right choice. AP is also a consideration, but not as it sits now, he's got to get closer to the front and be beating J Coop and then he's a consideration or a fill in if Sexton or J Coop are hurt.
Racing the MXoN is a team approach where all 3 have to be both fast and consistently near the top 5 to win the overall in points. What ever Roger Decoster tells the riders as the team manage is GOLD. When ever Roger decides to turn over the MXoN gauntlet Dungey would be an excellent leader for the team.
IMO Sexton is at the top of the 450 list as long as he can get his head together and hold back enough to not over ride and fall. Win at all costs is not the way to do it.
JA21 is one that certainly deserves to be on the team. He is fast and has won a MXoN moto (before getting landed on) and his experience knowing the team approach.
Deegan is the best 250 prospect at the moment. Possible 450 could be interesting but I don’t think it’s his time to jump up yet. Next year absolutely.
Hymas is certainly up there but I don’t think it’s quite his time to go just yet. Next year absolutely.
My comment wasn't wasn't addressing a single post, it's his whole body of work. Take a swim through his post history and you'll understand. I hope he's doing okay . . .
I was interested in the "future" of team USA.... a couple years down the line. No discussion so far on Hymas or anyone coming up in the next few years? I think Chance has huge potential and will be a mainstay on the team in the coming years
Zacho would be a better option imo. He has spent way more time in Europe than Dungey, knows plenty of people, training tracks and the teams.
He has both Mxdn and ISDE experience, is down to earth.
Some good things to have when the event is held most of the time on european ground.
I would lie if i said that you made my well being any better…
But who knows, if you say ”i hope he’s doing okay” or ”i hope your’e okay” a couple of times more in each post this day maybe it goes from being annoying to something good?
If you are so conserned about people, dive in some of the Will or RC threds and have a go at it, there you have some bitter people but most of them are from your own country so i guess you don’t see any problem in that…
Well, "team USA" links to MXoN... If you want to say what's the future of motocross from up and coming American riders, you'll get more of what you are looking for.
Hymas has made the largest jump this year so far. Deegan is simply riding at the level most people expected of him. Levi isn't as young, but with steady growth, he's got potential. Julien Beaumer also shows flashes of potential, but he's got some development to do to get to the front. Swoll is gritty and a bit rough, but he's an outdoor winner already, needs to find a bit more speed though.
Sexton, Cooper, Deegan, Kitchen, Hymas, that core will be around for a while. We'll see if rookies like Cochran, Beaumer and Bennick make a jump in the next couple of years. Drew Adams and a handful of other fast amateurs are coming up, but it's hard to predict what they will do as pros. There is also a huge group of younger guys with the speed to win but wildly inconsistent, maybe one or two of those guys will sort things out (Mosiman/Swoll/Robertson/Hammaker/Thrasher/Etc.).
