Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but Jett in moto 2 set his fastest lap on the last lap and is quite a ways faster than his average times. Around 2 seconds better than his previous couple of laps.
The fact he did this while riding in pain goes to show this kid wants it. I think we always talk about how talented he is, but that kid also has the grit that all great champions have. That ride was Cooper Webb-esque.
Jett was fine this week. Riding in pain was just an excuse if he didn’t win.
He was hustling to hold off the 96 who ran a 2:17.4, Hunter’s fastest as well.
.....Jett's grit....in other words, it ain't looking good for anyone else with the exception of Hunter.
Do worry boys, still lots of racing and I'm hoping Anderson comes alive.
Chase had a shit day and I reckon he will bounce back at Hangtown. It's going to be a fight until the end.

Grit is one thing but this weekend i would call it race awareness and trusting his own ability.
He let the other guys set the pace, not riding faster than what he needed and when the time was right he pulled the trigger.
Im sure that he could have sprinted to the top within a couple of laps from the start but since he was unsure about his form, he choose the smart way instead.
at some part of the race we saw him fall back from Hunter a couple of second and then he closed that gap within a straight or two, then i knew how safe he rode.
Hunter blew a golden opportunity, Chase couldn’t stay off the ground in moto 2 and took to long to get going in moto 1. Jett does not look like Jett yet still wins. He’s only gonna get better. Chase is still the only hope of beating him while running full tilt, and he’s blowing it.
For me, Thunder Valley showed that Jett can ride 80% for the first 20-22 minutes, step it up and finish it off. Very Tomac like. And I'm not a Jett fan.
I feel like Jett’s been riding at 80% nearly every race unless someone shows him a front tire.
big fax , I had 1 of my boiis I do sports podcasting with who don’t watch moto often but understands whts going on breakdown & analyze Jett , he said the same thing we all are thinking , it feels like Jett can match any level his comp is at & if necessary he can go at a higher level

Where he is increasing the number of ways in which to win, the others are going to have fewer and fewer opportunities to do so. Just sayin'
Jetts grit was shown in SX also, there were 3-4 incidents maybe more that would have derailed most riders season, he answered every single time.
Not sure why exactly but most Jett threads/ fans are just cringe. 😬
I'm hoping Coop gets a bit more wind in his sales, he is a threat also, more so than Angry Anderson.

It’s gonna be interesting if hunter keeps this form up.
IMO Jett still looks a little beat up and not racing at 100% but even struggling a little he is still in the mix right at the top.

How about Deegan’s grit? That shit in moto 1 between him and Tom was core. That’s real moto.
Respect to Jett, dudes talented af, can’t knock him, but I think Deegan will be someone who really makes him show all that he’s got.
(I'm a Canuck) i would say most Ozzies are pretty gritty in general and especially the MX guys/gals. #22 rode thru some knarly injuries in his day.
I love his ability to just turn it up when its time...
I think Deegan rides more on the edge than Jett, and it bites him like Hangtown where he almost ended his season. With Jett having 2 years on him, Deegan will come into the 450 class when Jett is just reaching his peak which he should be able to stay at for 4-6 years. If Deegan were a couple of years younger than he is, he would have a better shot of dethroning Jett.

Yeah, Deegans amateur-ish wfo style of riding will bite him in the ass more than once until he clean that up, and if he don’t he wont last a full moto on a 450 riding like that.
The Deegan family knows the timeline that Jett and Haiden is on and i don’t think that they are in a rush to get him on a 450 just because of that.
Jett’s got great talent, but he’s not John Wayne while all the other riders are Jerry Lewis. He’s doing no different than any of the other riders. Yes he’s winning and that’s a great feat, but he’s no different and shows no greater “grit” than most of the riders out there.
All the analysts/commentators think so. They see the small things Jett does and comment on it and how he is saving time and energy doing it and going faster than anyone else.

i'm sincerely surprised we haven't seen a Weege video on the apparent correlation between multi-time champions and relatively conservative riding styles. you don't really see the Alessis, Macadoos (sorry), Durhams, Jlaws, Stewarts (both...sorry), et al with staying power at the top. i'm sure there's way better examples, but i'm drawing a blank.
who is the most flamboyant/unorthodox rider that consistently stayed at the top of the 450s and healthy? RV? RC was unorthodox but he wasn't inefficient/flamboyant.
Villo was really the only rider who could consistently make the super aggressive style work on a 450 for any amount of time and it bit him too at times
