One of my childhood neighbors and friend was engaged to Robert Ressenger who shared in the design of 6D helmets.
They were going to get married in June on a cruise from Italy.... π

Godspeed Robert. Prayers to the family. This sucks and is sad.
Man what is going on in Socal moto lately? I know it's a dangerous sport but man, so many serious injuries and deaths lately. I'm almost starting to have reservations about the one thing I've loved to do since I was 3 years old. I didn't know Robert, but Bob Weber and everyone over at 6D has always been awesome to deal with and treated my Dad and I well. I'll be wearing my 6D ATR2 at the track in honor of Robert tomorrow. R.I.P....
RIP Robert.
Sad news abut Robert. Raced with him and a few conversations with him. Great rider and in my small amount of time with him, an even better person. Robert will be greatly missed..
Dammitβ¦. Rough few weeks in the So Cal moto sceneβ¦ praying for his family and friends. RIP Robert.
Incredibly sad news RIP and condolences to all the friends and especially family
I raced with Robert for several years at REM Glen Helen, such a nice guy with a lot of talent on a dirt bike and in business.
God Speed Sir.
please keep his family and friends in your thoughts
RIP. I remember watching him race way back in the old days.
Robert was talented in so many ways and was the founder of Mountain Cycle, designed the entire life ne of Rocket Exhaust and was integral with 6D. A great guy and moto to the core. He will be missed. RIP Robert.
Really sad to hear this. May he ride the heavenly clouds in Peace.
Our Condolences to all Robert's family and friends.
Riding until the end. What a great man.
All the best to his family.
Sorry to hear he didn't make it. RIP.
Fuck this is so unbelievably sad. I am in tears!
Pit Row
Shit, RIP and I hope his family can find peace through this. Life changing injuries are hard enough. Losing your father, husband, son is something i canβt imagine.
I hate seeing stuff like this happen. I had a friend that ended up passing away from a bad practice crash. At the time his kid was only 3 years old. My friend went out doing what he loved to do. Even though everybody will have their time come someday, it almost always seems like it comes too soon.
6D has changed more than an industry. They changed what a helmet is expected to do. Not just a Dirtbike helmet, just about every helmet for any activity that You would wear a helmet for. That helmet is being designed to do things differently than it was before 6D.
I was there the day he crashed. The vibes were very low in the pits as the chatter was that it was a very bad situation. Horrible newsβ¦Rest in peace Robert
Condolences to his freinds and family. RIP
Really sorry to hear this. Robert was always a treat to deal with, both on the moto and MTB side. He brought a lot of moto-style innovation to MTBs, including his Mountain Cycle frames, Suspender forks, and disc brakes.
Very sad to hear, I met Robert in 2013 when 6D was still pretty new and as a fellow engineer we had a great conversation. Very knowledgeable and nice guy.
My sincere condolences .
This is a sad reality. We can have the best gear and a reliable bike and ride within our limits, but our bodies are just not designed to take much punishment especially as we age. The feeling we all get from riding our dirt bikes is something you just have to experience, and I guess for most of us it's worth risking our lives for. It's definitely a bummer, but do you think he would have wanted everyone to quit riding just because he is no longer able to? No, I think we should all ride a lap next time we go riding for Robert and for all the awesome dudes that have passed before us doing what we all love.
Good write-up from my ol race buddy Zapata Espinosa. Robert was quite a guy no doubt.
This has been really hard on Kristina....
