How much damage would this cause?

Not my photo, found it on Facebook. I assume that would put an enormous amount of wear on your transmission, wheel bearings, and countershaft bearing. Especially if taken on the highway.

David Bailey did the nationals like this one year. He used a wheel with a street tire on it.

How do we know the KX isn’t being used as a pusher engine to help the Civic get out of its own way?

His rear tyre suggests that this is a common occurrence... 😂

I've gotta give it to the guy though, if he wants to ride and that's his only option, he's making it happen 👍

I remember seeing a picture of his set up in Dirt Bike or MXA magazine Year’s ago. Was he pulling a Kawasaki or a Bultaco ? I have never been able to find a picture again.

I've seen guys like this show up at Grantsburg MX. Its insane, funny and stupid all at the same time. But the guy at Grantsburg put his rear windows down, attached the tie down straps to the handlebars, then wrapped them thru the windows and hooked the tie downs to each other. Not even kidding. Guy if you're on this forum, post a picture.

Street bike bearings last tens of thousands of miles, keep them greased and they'll be fine.

Exactly. Very little load on all the components in this situation. No rider weight and everything is just freewheeling. Other than rear tire and chain slider wear I don’t see a problem.

Used to race with buddy that would take bike apart and put in back seat and trunk of small car, reassemble to race and take back apart for trip home.

I kid you not, I had a friend who wanted to get into riding....but he owned a 78 Nova.   That didn't stop him.     He "trailered" his bike around just like that.

He only did it locally though, not on any  highways or the like.

When you need to ride, you need to ride!

I once took the gas tank and one of the wheels off of my '78 Yz125, then stuffed it in the back of my '79 Toyota Supra!

I then drove it down to Palm Ave in San Diego for some riding!

After riding for a few hours, I had a hell of time getting it back in the car.

So worth it!

Are the tie-downs on the trunk hinges? That might actually be the craziest part of this picture.

Take the chain off.

put your bike on a stand and spin the back wheel. Feel that drag?   What do you think that might be?

He could have at least taken the chain off, then he would have only been ruining his rear tire.
