The only two realistic options i feel are Austin Forkner and Ty Masterpool

but really only one: Ty Masterpool

Austin Forkner has clearly been taken care of by Kawi/ PC and I imagine they are wanting him to take the spot. But he's recovering from yet another injury, and has little ride time so I dont see him being even a top 10 threat at any point during the season, nor do would wager he makes it to the end of the season healthy. Guys who get consecutive injuries have much longer to recover than most ppl realize. Roczen is finally looking like himself and its been how many years since his arm?

Ty Masterpool on the other hand, is healthy, was a top 10 threat last year already (on a Kawi) has been racing this year (on a kawi) and has proven himself as a factory rider before at Star and a 450 threat in last years outdoors. Idk if a factory bike would propel him to a podium as a 450 doesnt offer the gains a 250 does. but a stable program at least makes it easier and he already has the resume

and I dont see Kawi not fielding two riders when there is still the whole outdoors and SMX finales to run. a lot will depend on their personal desire and contract obligations. and since they have a 2 months notice to hire someone, vs hiring in the middle of the season with a week prep time, its at least a prime opportunity to hire

The other thing with Forkner is he admitted that he has nerve damage in his left hand that causes him not to have good grip strength and that is one of the reasons that contributed to his accident in SX this year. If Kawasaki put him on a 450 would that not be considered attempted murder. Especially if he is having a hard time hanging on the 250 .

but also. Forkner has a clause in his contract that secures his 450 ride. Does he take it now  while there’s a spot.. and Prado takes El Hombre’s seat.

Forkner doing outdoors on a 450 seems like the most logical considering how much he has spoken about wanting to go 450 next year

Im sure you know he would have to perform to secure the 450 ride. He hasn’t and in turn has stayed on the 250.

Agree on most cases.. but forkners contract guarantee‘s his a 450 seat regardless of performance. He gets 1 year on the 450, that year will determine if...

He is NOT guaranteed a 450 contract

I think where there is a will there is a way with Moto contracts both ways.

Honestly, Adam just announced his retirement a few days ago. I’m not surprised that everyone is moving on so quick to figure out who’s going to take his ride for the summer but I find it disappointing. Who’s gives a shit.. this kid has poured his life and soul into the sport and it’s spitting him out due to injuries and unfortunate circumstances. I think he deserves more than an hour before this gossip of who’s gonna ride his bike for the summer.

He's signed for the year with an option for 2025.

Luke Clout’s on Kawi in Australia, but I think Masterpool will get another shot.

Any chance kawi skips over master pool bc of the head ache with the family?

Possibly, but it doesn’t appear they have too many options at this stage.

Wasn’t Zach Osborne getting ready to race outdoors this year supposedly on a Yamaha, why not fill in at kawi?

There was rumors of him lining up for some 250 races but he recently got taken out by a riderless bike and broke some ribs and said there's no shot of it happening now.

Do any of "us" know that his headache family situation has changed since those days ago? I'd hope they've lived and learned. I have no clue, but with my limited knowledge (as in none), I think he'd be a logical choice. Would he even want to do a fill in ride? Be fun to watch anyhow.

Masterpool has to be the choice...if not, Kawi will be confirming the rumors that the factories won't touch him for some reason is true. He is a no-brainer to put on that bike this summer.

Yes. An option does not mean he'll take it.

But it would put a lot of interested eyes on the bike & team sponsors. And thats what this business is all about.

MC would not make the fast 40

Exactly

I've always thought it would be a cool thing to bring around a decent rider that has been working his ass off to make events, has the skill to put it into the night show and create a cool story, a rider like Zach Williams, Kevin Moranz, a full privateer that would so appreciate being allowed to finish the year, with no expectation beyond that, particularly outdoors.

I know what you all are going to come back with, but if this were my world, I'd do it this way once in a while.

Like Alex Ray with factory Yamaha a few years back? This happens from time to time.

Why is tickle being mentioned? He hasn’t raced in years. Kawi never used him when AC or Anderson were out that I can remember.

Seems the Elephant in the room here is Kitchen. I seem to remember him saying something about being on a bigger bike due to his size.
