Yep . If he was on the track it definitely had something to do with him .
Supercross will be a better sport when Justin Barcia retires.
JT has been a simp for the Lawrence camp since the beginning of outdoors last year. Barcia was clearly blocking Friese from coming up the inside
Barcia still came in too hot but it was a dumb move by Jett to turn down that hard on the first lap while being midpack
Friese was like the ghost of ghostbusters. He is everywhere. Look how he had an effect on everything. Even when he doesn’t do anything wrong, the freeze effect cannot be denied. 😂

I dunno man, looking at some of the pics, if Jett doesn't turn down, JB probably just hits him in the rear wheel instead of the front. He was in his path either way.
Good point. The narrative seems to be on a curve depending on the person in question. Also, I mostly just appreciate the GWB/J. Cole reference 🤣
Be an interesting conversation between Bam and Jett!!!
I doubt it will be Tomac, Bam have you ever made a clean pass! The deer in the headlights look Bam had was priceless.

There was a pic of them talking afterward that i saw and JB had his hand on Jetts shoulder, kind of like you do when youre telling someone you fucked up.
The 18 is getting the full 450 experience. Beef with Anderson and now T-Boned by Barcia. Hope he's okay.
Will be interesting to get JS7’s take on this situation.
This is it exactly, especially JTs comments (and I'm a JT fan). Overall, this was a racing incident. Friese was coming in hot on Barcia, and Barcia was coming in hot to protect the inside. Jett turns down early in the race. You can tell Barcia didn't intend to do it. Props to Jett for taking the hit and finishing the race. And for those thinking Barcia couldn't make that turn, I guarantee he was targeting the back berm to help pivot the bike while protecting his inside. That's why they run the races and its never a done deal until the deal is done (speaking of the Championship).
Barcia was thinking only of Friese because…game recognizes game. It was like when Godzilla and King Kong are fighting in Tokyo. Jett just happened to be a building downtown. Collateral damage.
Depending on the angle of the photo a fan could make the case for racing incident or Barcia effed up big time.
Would love to see a photo from directly above the turn. One angle on TV made it look like #18 Turned straight down from the middle of the turn and was going to head back the opposite direction on far left side.
I would "SPECULATE" that Jett is so used to being all alone in 1st place that he thinks he can take any line he wants. Clearly this early in the race his line selection put a bullseye on the side of his bike. On the flip side, no idea what line Barcia was taking. <-- might not be fair since Barcia is looking at Jett and may have turned down trying to avoid a collision.
I think we need to see the previous turn and how Barcia got by Friese. That probably had something to do with Barcia's dive bomb into the turn to protect the inside (and himself) from retaliation. A good wide angle shot of the previous turn would probably tell much more of this story.
It's obviously 90/10. Die, heretic!
We talking cool calm collected tuxedo wearing SMX Stew? Or million mile an hour, brain scrambling, little kid screaming Podcast Stew?
It all but looked like if Bam wouldn’t have Jett, Vince would have lol.
Yea I still remember when JT went on Pulp after the San Diego race and said Anderson should've pulled over for Jett...straight up backmarker mentality. Lost a lot of respect for him after that.
Pit Row
Honest question, would Barcia have even made the corner if Jett was not there?
Having only seen one angle, we know two things; Jett turned down early at a bad time, and Barcia clobbered him. That aside, I think it is questionable if Barcia would not have blown the corner or not, he was coming in hot as hades.
Absolutely he makes that corner, easily. Go watch all the guys pivoting their bikes in that StL dirt.
Yea, he would have. Friese was going the same speed and stopped so quick, without a berm, that he didn’t even come close to touching bambam. I am dead serious in this comment..when barcia put his hand up it was because he was upset that that hit allowed Friese to get the pass on him. He was 100% blaming Jett. If you watch it there was actually a lot going on. Barcia knew what a shithead move Friese was going to try…because bambam wrote the book. If you look at Jett’s turn…he actually cut so hard, and slightly over rotated, that he was literally going to be the farthest left track coming out of that turn…of all the tracks in the dirt. If it had been a rider that didn’t ride cheap in place of Friese…none of it actually happens. If Jett doesn’t pivot hard then bambam avoids the hit(yes…he would not have even gone over to Hunter’s line). …and if Bambam wasn’t bambam…. It all added up to…well…that.
Yes he had time to pivot on the 2nd half of the berm, riders were doing that all night.
Barcia is a pro 450 rider, how many times do you see those guys straight up jump off the back of a berm??
Probably already said somewhere, but the wider angle shows that 51 was racing Friese to the corner. Friese was further inside than Bam. Bad deal. Glad Jett didnt break anything apparently. Racing incident between 51 & 125, 18 got caught up in it
Yep
The real race taking place tonight:
My thoughts exactly. In the picture you can see the two guys in front of him both turning and Barcia is still headed straight. That bozo haircut might have gotten in his eyes and he couldn’t see where he was going? 🤡🤡
I struggle to listen to the stew podcast. Too much rabbling, waffling, trying to crack jokes like a shockjock radio host or something...when he's calm and collected he has great insight and takes though.
But regarding the incident? I'd say 90% JB, 10% JH.
Yeah Jett probably shouldn't have cut down so early in the race. But the angle and speed Barcia was coming in at was ridiculous. As to why he was doing it? Some say he was avoiding getting Freise himself? Who knows
The most relieved people in the stadium after the Barcia Jett incident was the AMA for poor flag placement at the end of the 2nd main. Barcia bailed them out, or there's a different kind of controversy/debate going on the rest of the night. Thankfully, seems like everyone is alright and the points battle tighened up.
Lol so we're going to blame this on Friese? If Bam Bam was trying to protect the inside, he did a terrible job. Friese actually made the corner on the inside. If Jett hadn't been there, Barcia wouldve been at the to of the berm past the apex.
It did look wierd on the replay, his wheels appear off the ground ever so slightly, similar to hydroplaning or locking the wheels up on ice.
Post a reply to: Barcia/Lawrence what really happened.
