Is there a plausible explanation out there? He does not look comfortable on the bike, at all. Timing on jumps is really off. His body position looks off. I can’t tell if it’s the bike or his body. Earlier he looked so comfortable on the bike. I have to think his back or shoulder is tweaked? It’s the only explanation that fits for me.

I could be completely off. Let's assume Eli is being truthful, and he has no injury. Could his issue be bike related? By that, I mean, the East Coast has ruttier tracks and maybe he's just not comfortable on the steel frame? He is the type to back it down if he's not comfortable, and he also would not blame the bike publically. Everyone said earlier in the season, he looks like the bike had crazy traction on hardpack, maybe his motor package, and softer dirt is creating an uneasy feeling for him. This is similar to the year at Atlanta when he dabbed his foot and tweaked his knee. He had a couple races where he lost the aggression and speed, but never confirmed an injury until a few weeks later. Someone mentioned it earlier, Tomac isn’t pushing through the rhythms like he usually is, even in the beginning of the race. His position on the bike looks different too, much farther back than usual. Typical arm pump Tomac would be able to push early but fall off 8-10 minutes in. Just because Tomac picked it up for 2 laps to hold off Webb in a tight points situation doesn't mean he's well. I was at the Birmingham race last weekend, I watched him the whole time, he looked nothing like himself in the main, and definitely nothing like the guy who won Daytona. Kenny in Birmingham however looked exactly like the guy who won tonight. Momentum could be going his way.

Anyone else feel ET's bike isn't looking as good as the beginning of the year? Rear end looks so bouncy and overall the bike seems kinda twitchy.
