2/21/2026 5:39pm Feld is running a business not a charity. They shouldn’t give free entry to riders. Also, the phrase “way too expensive” is relative. If riders can’t afford it, don’t race. I don’t see the issue here.

Glad to see your comment. I deleted my post because I'm trying to stay out of the petty arguments that are non stop on this board. But, it's true, too many guys stay in the 250 class simply because they can and because they can get paid for it. Can't blame them one bit. Anyone would do he same. Ageing out rule would bring new guys in both classes... and make both more competitive. IMO 🤷♂️

This is a professional sport where athletes are paid to preform. They’re paid to race the bikes that the teams want them to ride. That’s why they’re hired in the 1st place. Your perceptions of who should ride what and when are addressed in the amateur ranks. And then there’s this… You had to come in here and fuck this up with your concerns that have nothing to do with the point of the thread. The J Mart story and yesterday’s race are epic tales that really don’t need you shitting on them.

You do make a great point there, about injuries. I guess Forkner would be the poster child of that conversation. 10 years on a 250, lots of potential but, always battling injuries. I know the JMart story is great. I’ve just always seen the 250/125 class as a spot for newer pros, not vets.
They need to open the class up and combine the East West sx into a single series. Future's for development and once you're a pro, you're full-time.

I see both sides of the coin here. There are riders who simply are built better for riding the 250 vs. the 450. If the age rule you bring up was implemented, it likely would've helped RJ out if he were able to secure 450 factory ride sooner if he were riding how he is currently. I don't think the majority of us saw him placing top 5's right away in this field. JMart has been injury prone since his crash at Muddy Creek in 2018, where he was pretty much slated to take over the #2 seat at HRC...
