100% no. A cheap helmet is safer than a cracked one.

It's probably better than no helmet...

This has got to be a joke right?

I would be more concerned with the damage caused by that impact that you can't see.

OP must have done some damage if he’s asking this question 😂

This is the perfect time to turn that helmet into a cool desk lamp. That is all it is good for now !

Yea. Rest of the helmet and interior is good. Had a crash where my chin (where its cracked) hit the bars or something and caused this crack. It's surface level. Pretty legitimate question to be asking on a $900 helmet. Looking for any real input on how this affects structural integrity / is this now severly prone to significant damage in the event of a face first crash.

I wouldn't, like wrc777 what damage isn't showing. What if you duplicate the crash that caused that ?  I could see the chin bar break off and become a razor sharp piece of shrapnel, gonna be a firm no from me. Glad you're ok !   Sucks for sure but could be worse

I think OP already damaged his brain.... So it shouldn't be an issue.

Install a sticker ovr the tiny crack & run it.  No damage to where the helmet protects your head. The little gash is just trim, nothing to worry about.

This. Helmets are really designed to take one large hit. Does not matter if you can't see damage elsewhere, you probably hit your noggin hard enough to warrant buying a new helmet.

I would reach out to Bell, maybe they will give you a discount.

The structural integrity of the chin guard is completely compromised.

Unfortunately, your $900 helmet has done it's job. It is time to thank it for it's protection, and retire it.

I'd replace it, but I also wouldn't let it shut down my weekend plans if it were that or nothing. I'll roll the dice once, but not in an ongoing manner.

Feel free to replace that sweater while you're at it. Tongue

Pull the linier out and look at the polystyrene and if you see signs of impact, Toss it.

If it was on the part that surrounds the skull part of the head it would be a hard no, but if you can't get another one I might chance it on the chin bar. I remember using helmets with no chin bar (open face).
