No offense man, but it's clear you spend a large chunk of your free time on Parler or some other political sites and it consumes your every thought. It can be easy to get sucked into the constant barrage of propaganda, "news" etc. presented online, but I implore you to try and break away. Every time you think about clicking on that next "article" just put your phone in your pocket and go outside, play with your dog or your kid. There's so much more to life than doomscrolling political crap thats created solely for your clicks. It's all garbage. Youll find life is not as bad or whatever as these publishers want you to believe and honestly 99.999% of what they talk about has 0 affect on your life, unless you keep doomscrolling. What does affect you is the time wasted sifting through their nonsense. I've been sucked into that crap before. As soon as I broke away from it my mental health improved greatly.

Preach it...truth.Woohoo

Honestly, if you do nothing but consume stuff online that makes you think that this country is going down the drain the way you think it is, it's just going to keep feeding you that. Go take a walk, drink some water, and soak in some sunshine. Life ain't bad!

Anyway, did anybody talk to Smith last night?

Bummer. He was solid this year.

Smitty is cool but he’s getting old.  I’d like to see him go to 450 before he retires.  for the 250 class  I d rather see a Levi Kitchen win

Anyway, I wasn't reading the race thread while Smith was floundering around, and my first thought was he was just spazzing out again (like after his altercation with Deegan last year), concussion didn't enter my mind til I saw this thread. Certainly seemed possible, but it's also very possible he just reacted how he has in the past on a sketchy track.

He said he was winded, and was checked by Alpinestars for concussion after the race.

Jordon Smith posted  on insta– Well not the night we wanted clearly. Everything was going good until it wasn’t. Got cross rutted and came up short on the triple in the rhythm section. Knocked the breath of myself the worst I have ever had. Couldn’t breathe for about 30 seconds and when I got back on my bike the bars were really twisted and was extremely hard to ride in the ruts to finish the race. The alplinestars medical team pulled me in after the race to check for concussion symptoms even though I didn’t feel like I hit my head at all. I know it looked like I possibly hit my head during the crash but my stomach and chest took the whole impact. I passed the concussion testing with no sypmtons at all. All I can say is I’m happy I’m healthy enough to go race next weekend. Racing has some serious ups and downs and this is just a small bump in the road. I will always give it everything I’ve got while on the track and try to do the best I can for myself and my team. Thanks to everyone that supports me we will be back.

After re-watching the replay, I'll buy this narrative.  When I first saw the crash, it looked like he hit his chin on the crossbar.  But watching it again, it appears he hit it with his chest.

I'm glad he's alright.

"You cant do anything about it... just relax and go have fun."

Weak men create hard times.... and avoiding the worst of the world just makes it worse. What a stupid thing to say.

This place is FULL of weak men just "having their fun...cause bad things ruin my happy place.

back to the thread content... I sure thought he looked compromised. Whether concussed or not, he was riding erratically and making lots of mistakes, causing a dangerous situation. The AMA should have black flagged him, IMO.

Something was off if it was not a concussion .  I was worried for him, wondering if they would black flag him since it looked like there was something wrong.  The way he was all over the track ,he got very lucky  that he did not get caught up with another rider. It made me wonder if he had not been close in the points, if somebody would have pulled him off.

I had a couple incidents myself that I crashed and then did some silly things after getting up. Like opening up a gate, riding off the track and over to the burger stand because I thought they were yelling my name.  Luckily  I was stopped by an EMT and they talked to me and I rode back to my pit after. That was a local NESC race at Southwick back in the early 2000's. So much more is known about concussions now . I hope he is OK and that if he did get a concussion that he takes a brake .

Actually, we "were" calling you over to our burger stand. Yes, I believe it was 2003? if not mistaken.  We saw you go down and when you got back on the bike, my coworker started yelling your name to give you a free burger. Had that EMT not stopped you, it was on the house. But kid you not, that EMT came over to our stand not 2 minutes later trying to get 'your' free burger

Either way, they should have stopped him after the crash and looked him over, lucky he didn't hurt someone else.

The concussion rule... Alpinestars was on the scene quickly... They may not have seen any signs of concussion.

Although they do an amazing job, it's not the first time the Astar crew have missed something, or made a mistake.

A concussion should not be the sole criteria when evaluating a rider’s ability to continue.  These pros are built to plow through pain, and guys like Smith have a lot more on the line than just a moto win. An objective voice of reason needs to intervene, and that voice could often be the medical crew.

On the Pulp review, JT said that Smith had crashed another time that was not on the broadcast. High centered on a jump. I know Smith said he is fine and that other things caused his erratic riding.  I wonder at what point they would black flag a rider. That had to be right up to the line . I would think there had to be people talking about pulling him.

Yah the points he would miss out on by being checked mid race would be a bad thing. But riding around concussed could cost a lot more than points. I know that I would probably have made the wrong decision and rode , if I had all of that riding on me riding. No matter what is causing erratic riding, the rider should be pulled for his and other racers safety.

This must not have been bad enough to trigger a black flag. But I wonder how much worse it would need to be. I would not want the job of deciding to pull a rider. If You stop a major issue from happening , nobody will ever know, and the rider and fans would be mad. And if You don't pull the rider and they have some sort of major injury , then you might get people saying you should have pulled him. It would be a tough job for sure.

OK, I quoted someone (not him) and that was gone but I see the mess you had to clean up.
