A lot of good ones listed! How about: What does it mean to “gain an advantage” when off track?

"Seat bounce" hands-down.

It was easy to see who had actually performed the seat bounce technique on a track, and who hadn't. Kinda like someone without kids telling you how to raise your kid lol.

Maybe recency bias but I kind of like the table top quad argument.

It started over there, carried over to MotoDrive, and eventually found its way here, which makes it hands down the greatest moto argument of all time. Strobegate is a distant but equally entertaining second (@UpTiTe, it was actually TOE not Nerd).

Good thing I saw your post, was going to say the same about it being Tony Scavo (TOE 2.0 now). Nerd and TFS were LIVID over him using them, which made some  AWESOME pics btw, and it was some bullshit it will blind the riders argument or something.

Definitely not as entertaining as seat bounce gate over at Bushwood with TFS.

Can we review the Seat bounce debate anywhere? I know the double / triple debate was like nails on a chalkboard to me, but I never read the seat bound debate. If not available anymore, can someone summarize?

Yes, both

Agreed . Strobegate was a big deal in the industry at the time , but seat bounce had everybody fired up . 🍿🤣

I thought "Octopus" was on that other forum TFS started (can't remember what it was called)?

Actually, the crux of the seat bounce argument was, "does it actually do anything?" TFS' position was that it does not. I am on the side of "yes, it does make the bike fly higher."

Not quite , TFS theory was the spring didn’t effect the height difference , the lower Center of gravity by sitting down was what caused the difference in height . The internet moto engineers all came out in force on that one … good times

“Speak With Your Wallet!”

This was a Vital originated crusade to send a message to the OEMs in order to get them to make 2-strokes again (namely Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki). The strict M.O. was only buy a NEW 2-stroke from a dealer.

In true Vital “sky-is-falling” form, if anyone posted or mentioned buying, riding, or promoting a “used” 2-stroke, they were quickly berated for not buying a NEW bike at a dealer. This calmed after a few years but still continues to this day…

My memory is getting a little fuzzy as time goes on, but it was definitely at Bushwood as well.

Don’t know, but it would’ve involved TFS, and I probably would’ve taken his side no doubt. Sure miss that guy
