it always amazing to see the lack of ability to actually contact the people who designed the bike and import them into the united states is it really just that hard to ask. yes the bike with all fluids no fuel is 220.9 pounds and yes it is 65hp at the counter shaft the retail price in the united states is $7699 you do have to pay shipping and tariffs witch most people have no clue how that works. Want more answers stop by Kove Moto USA in Lindon Utah and take a look for yourself.kove mx450

Does the bike come with those clamps and hubs or the teal?

The bike looks awesome. The 250 price of $5999 is good but the 450 being $7699 is going to be a tough sell. I want this bike to see high levels of success but that’s more than leftover 450’s! I just can’t see it selling at that price and I heard they are receiving 1500 in the USA total models?

The 250 is priced quite competitively.

The US has things like intellectual property protection laws to encourage companies to invest in development.  China does not and assists and/or encourages stealing intellectual properties to undercut companies that did all the work for them and played by the rules.   If everyone just followed the China model soon you'd have no investment and development if the reward is to have your work stolen.

This bike appears to be pretty unique so I’m not sure your argument holds any water here.

What bike?   Who said anything about a bike?  I was addressing the general subject of "cheap Chinese knockoffs" in the thread of replies I replied to.  All water is held and your comparison to the rise of Japanese products in the 70's is full of holes here.

Not to dredge up an old argument, but if you're talking more than MX bikes, Japanese guitar companies absolutely did copy and undercut American designs, "lawsuit models" are fairly sought after for being damn good copies at a fraction of the cost.

Just provide one ounce of proof of your claims...  Is that so hard?  Put it on a scale and show us.  Let's see the dyno graph.  I have nothing at all against the bike, I think it's pretty cool.  Just hate the claims without any proof, when the proof would be so easy and not cost a dime.  It would also eliminate the ridicule you are receiving.

Wonder what the value will be on the used bike market. I’m not sure why but, they seem more  like a disposable bike than something  worth hanging onto.

Whos going to be the first person to out the tornado 450 through its paces?

If this bike is genuinely competitive, then all Kove need to do is pay motocross action or such like to include it in a shootout, or do a once of thorough test.

Without this happening then not many will invest in a 7k bike I wouldn’t have thought ?

It’s a Chinese off-brand bike like all those off-brand little pit bikes that you can sometimes find in the mall or on Facebook marketplace. It’s never claimed to be anything more. When they break, your done with them.

Their rally bikes are pretty well established.

Sounds like a perfect bike for the market it’s targeting. It bridges the gap between a KLX300R type bike and a 250F motocross bike. It’s probably on par with 07-09 250F’s. Which is great for the price. glad to see mags are testing them

And you have to trust your product to give one to MXA.

Not a chance it has that. The claims he’s made are outrageous. From weights of bikes, to HP. Doesn’t take away from the product though.

For example he said the 250F weighed in at 232 with 1.5 gal of fuel on IG. Whereas Dirt Bike msg stated 237 no fuel. He also said the 450 is 220lbs.. somehow lighter than the 250.

It's competition is really the RMZ, which is manufacturer priced (after rebate) about $1000 more. On the downside it has a kickstarter, but is more powerful, has KYB suspension, WiFi tuner, contingency, and solid dealer/aftermarket support.

You'd have to be someone who wants to try something new...

for 7500 usd you can get a really good Japanese 450, something with goodies on it.

That 450 is more expensive than most RMZ450’s on the showroom floor

And honest dealer network.. I heard the Kove distributor has been telling guys the 450 was too light to get homologated? Like… come on

True, but you can find left over RMZs ($5800 ‘23) or even “like new” used for around $3500 - $4000, which are great deals since it’s the same bike since 2019.

But, the reviews of the Kove are impressive, and a used or left over Kove would be even cheaper

A bit more expensive than I expected...I bet they'll be closer to 7k for a deal to be done, especially the first year or so. If they turn out to be world beaters, then the price can go up accordingly.

Worth repeating, since this keeps getting said. It's Chinese, but not a knock off.

Looks very down on power but aside from that it looked pretty good. If the price could come down a bit more it could be getting close to what people have been saying we need for ages, as in a cheaper bike that would make the sport more financially accessible for people interested in getting into it

Just what everyone is waiting for.  A slightly underpowered Teal colored,Chi Com MX bike.  What sells more red or Teal.

Just like cars, trucks, boats, or anything else if you want something less expensive, buy used. If you are fussy or have money, buy new. I will never understand buying a new 2024 RMZ that is basically 8 years old when you could buy a 2-3 year old 2021 YZ, CRF, SX with a few hours but basically newer design for less.
